From Message main menu --> Menu (bottom right) --> Tools --> Options --> Message Tab
Select the [When available, use storage card to store attachment] but that is for email attachments only.

you can use MEMMAID, it has the option of moving all messaging "including MMS and SMS" to the storage card.

Usual advice in these situations is 'don't do it' smile.gif

Email attachments are OK on external storage, as they download as a separate process, but email and SMS messages are system processes which can cause big problems if set to store externally. The problems happen after resetting, while the device is initialising its storage options; sometimes the My Storage, and SD cards don't initialise in time to signal their presence to the OS when the messaging system is initialising, which then leads to 'phantom' storage locations being created (My Storage2 etc)

If you really want to backup/archive your messages, I'd look at Dotfred's PIMBackup, a free utility to back up all your contact and messaging services. Alternatively you could use Jeyo Mobile Companion to sync SMS messages to Outlook on the PC.

If we could only use the 16GB as a proper HardDisk! with all windows and programs ad SMSs and everything is stored into it, and the 128 memroy is really a RAM memory like the proper computer! I can't see why this cannot be done after all these years of windows mobile in the market!
