    Snooze (alarm)

Snooze has multiple recurring alarms that can play either .wav or .mp3 files. It can also change the phone profile or run an application of your choosing.

Snooze is designed for QVGA WM5 smartphones, it should work on any QVGA WM5 device although there is no touch screen support. It may work on WM2003, but I have not tested this.

I've tried to make the interface intuitive, so I won't write a whole bunch of instructions. Mp3 or wav files must be in the application directory, or \My Documents\ or \My Documents\My Music\. If you have Snooze installed to a storage card, they can also be in either of those two folders on the storage card.

Snooze requires .NET CF 2.0 to be installed on the phone. I've only tested this on my i-mate SP5, so comments about performance on other phones would be appreciated.

Unfortunately you must unlock your phone to dismiss or snooze an alarm. Code to override the lock state would be appreciated.

Snooze uses FMOD 3.75 to play mp3 files, fmodce.dll for WM5 & WM6 is included in the cab, for older WM versions you'll need to get the correct fmodce.dll from http://www.fmod.org

This is intended to be the final version of Snooze. In the past I have been very disappointed to find that Snooze crashed occasionally, sometimes requiring my phone to be restarted. I have finally fixed this in v1.3.1. If anyone has stopped using Snooze due to this problem, please download this latest version.

I am also considering porting Snooze to PPC to enable touch screen support. If I get a good response to this I will do it in the near future. Please comment in the forum topic.

    Current version: 1.3.1

    Changed in 1.3.1 include:
Major bug fix to prevent program lockups (everyone should use only this version)
Added option to display the time in 24h format
    Minor memory optimizations

    Changes in v1.3 include:
Vibrate option for Play Sound alarms
    Treeview file browser
Fixed a bug that caused a non-Play Sound alarm to automatically dismiss any current Play Sound alarms
Better storage card code, the program will now find the storage card independantly of where it's installed
Bug fix where a sound would keep playing when you closed the Options window
Tweak to provide a better interface when changing the alarm action
Removed check for old alarms stored in registry

    Changes in v1.2.1 include:
Added command line arguments to Execute Program alarms
Fixed display of Execute Program alarms in Set Alarm form

    Changes in v1.2 include:
Program will close when an alarm is dismissed unless started manually by user.
Duplicate alarm names and times are allowed.
Sound alarms will queue up if activated while another alarm is already active. Profile changes and program exectution will execute at the set time regardless of other alarms.
In the Alarm screen the RH menu now has a range of snooze times. Default time is still activated by any keypad key.
    Fixed display of disabled alarms.
Alarm info is now stored in a file in the program directory instead of the registry. (Alarms from previous version will be imported automatically on first run.)

    8 in 1 Stopwatch

    Stopwatch 8 (8 in 1 Stopwatch)
Some time ago, I needed a stopwatch & realised the "Smartphone" didn't have one (or at least I couldn't find one anyhoo!) so I created one. Its intended use was to time several items at once (e.g. a race). I don't like standard Start / Lap /Stop timers so I laid it out as 8 individual timers. Each one can be started / stopped individually & they are Count up / Count down / Current Time / Journal configurable.

Normally I'd have done this in C++ (so It could be used on WM2002 & WM2003) but I was in a hurry & so did it in C# - my apologies to the WM2002 users!

UPDATE 16-Sep-2007 Sorry its been a while!
    Added: Support for rotation
Change: Report viewing (now uses internal form instead of IE)
Change: Method of displaying background image so devices with different size Client Rectangle still sees it!
    Other: Under the hood improvements!
    * Coming Soon - support for touch screen devices.

    UPDATE 5-Oct-06
Change: Set default "Backlight" option to 'Default' - i.e. use power management settings
Fix: Setting of alert file now saves every time
Fix: Setting for 'always on top' is now remembered
Added: Ability to generate text report (faster)
Added: Default build in alert sound (for those without a suitable 'WAV' on your phone)
Added: Ability to save / load / rename / delete timer sets
Added: Ability to 'Lock' the application itself to prevent accidental pressing of button
    Other: Under the hood improvements!

    Prev Version updates
    * Vibrate alerts (additional to WAV alerts)
    * Time mode / Journal Mode
    * Backlight always on (full / low power)
    * Keep application on top (a stopwatch needs to stay in view / not disappear to the background!)
    * You can now set the action button to either "Cycle Through" or "Toggle Timer" (a workaround for the protected buttons on WM2005)
    * Auto save selected timer set
    * Some other bugs & spellings corrected.

    Pocket SnapIt

I focused for some time on creating a new free program for .NET Compact Framework devices. This program is intended for taking screenshots. It's name is Pocket SnapIt and its source is also available.

    Some of its function are:
    * Full-screen screenshots or screenshots of a fixed region.
    * Consecutive screenshots (you can define the time interval).
    * Automatically stores the screenshots in .bmp uncompressed format in the directory you define and with the prefix you define.
    * Features system sounds to make capturing easier.
    * When the program is initiated, it 'listens' for the defined capture key. When you press the key, you can either take a single screenshot or initiate/stop the capture process for consecutive screenshots.
    * Developers can execute the program with some command arguments so that the program takes automatically a screenshot and save it.

In addition, Pocket SnapIt is also intended to help developers for .NetCF development. It contains useful classes such as File Explorer, API calls etc. Finally, it's an example of cross-platform programs. It customizes itself automatically for different platforms (PCs, Pocket PCs 2003, Smartphones 2003, in one executable file).

Requirements: One of the following platforms supporting Microsoft's .NET Compact Framework:
    - Windows Mobile 2003 (Smartphones and Pocket PCs)
    - PCs with Windows. Microsoft .NET (Compact) Framework.

More information as well as downloads at http://kherc.brinkster.net/.

    Download details:
The download that follows is the Smartphone setup .cab file. Automatic setups for other devices (ppc, pc) can be found on the website. There you can also find the "Universal" package (contains the vb.net source and the executable and can be installed manually on any device).

    Pocket Control PC - NetCF

I focused for a long time on creating a new free program for Windows (Mobile 2003). This program is intended for controling remotely a PC with the help of a device like Smartphones, PCs or Pocket PCs. It's source is also available and any developper could help!

Pocket Control PC is divided in two programs, both essential for it to work. One program is called the client and the other the host. The host program is Pocket Control PC - PC and always runs on a PC. The client one is Pocket Control PC - NetCF which runs on Smartphones 2003, Pocket PCs 2003 and PCs. When both programs are run and connected, the remote user can send commands to the PC which are then executed. The current commands supported pertain to the following:
    # Mouse and Scroll commands: The remote user is able to control the PC's mouse (and mouse's vertical scroll).
    # Keyboard commands: The remote user is able to control the PC's keyboard. All usual keys are supported. Current keyboard layout is US (extended - with media/browser/application keys e.g. next/previous track). The remote user can normally change languages in Windows.
    # Input text & keystrokes: The remote user can input text and keystrokes for the PC.
    # Input Mouse location: The remote user can input coordinates to move the PC's mouse.

For the connection between the device and the PC, the TCP/IP protocol is used. Microsoft's Activesync connection is adequate (through many ways like cable, bluetooth, network etc). You can find more info in the programs' readmes.

    Requirements:
    # A device with .NET Compact Framework. It could be Smartphones 2003, Pocket PCs 2003 and PCs. In Smartphones and Pocket PCs, .NETCF is pre-installed. On PCs, you must download and install .NETCF or .NET Framework if you do not have it (Note: .NET Framework supercedes .NETCF).
    # A PC which runs Pocket Control PC - PC.
    # Connection between PC and the device with TCP/IP. Microsoft's Activesync connection is adequate.

    Pocket Image Editor 1.2

I focused for a long time on creating a new free program for .NET Compact Framework devices. This program is intended for image editing. It's source is also available and any developper could help!

Some of its function are (all that are contained are working):
    # Point-and-click painting with colors and sizes and different movement behaviours. On PCs or Pocket PCs, you can click to move and paint.
    # Effects (Negative Colors, Black & White, Lightness).
    # File functions. Mini file browser included. Opening File supported. Saving File supported (.bmp). New Image supported. Importing image into current image supported.
    # Image Editing (Flipping, Resize, Paper Size).
    # Drawing (Line, Rectangle, Polygon, Text, Ellipse).
    # Undo (one level).
    # Making Selections: Select a region and edit it. Also supported are Copy, Paste and Fill (fill is not exactly the usual one. this function replaces pixels with the same color in the selected region with another color).
    # Comprehensive cursor-based GUI/interface.
    # Zoom.
    # Advanced Cursor movement (normal, accelerated and "paint when move"). Also, 4 cursor styles.
    # Auto-Loading (on start) and auto-save (on exit) options to the registry.

In addition, Pocket Image Editor is also intended to help developpers for .NET Compact Framework. It works on multiple platforms and customizes itself accordingly. It contains useful windows you could use in your application such as File Explorer, Color Picker, File Save, Get Points, Input Dialog, Save Image to BMP file, Image Editing Functions etc. It can also be called by a program as a modal dialog box to return an image.

Requirements: One of the following platforms supporting Microsoft's .NET Compact Framework:
    # Windows Mobile 2003 or later (Smartphones and Pocket PCs)
    # PCs with Windows. Microsoft .NET Compact Framework or .NET Framework must be installed for the program to be executed.
