Guest Chaser81 Posted January 4, 2005 Report Share Posted January 4, 2005 I have found a re-produceable and quite serious bug with my Imate Jam when using KSE Truefax, one of the programs that came pre-installed on it. After composing a new fax, as soon as I hit "Send", my Imate Jam will lose cellular reception ENTIRELY. Even though this happens, it will still sometimes send the fax!! :?: Most of the time it doesnt however, reporting "No Carrier Detected". Anyone else had this? Guest Chaser81 Posted January 4, 2005 Report Share Posted January 4, 2005 Okay, now I am confused. Just visited KSE's homepage and have discovered that it is not a bug but a FEATURE of the program. According to the web site, Truefax has to deactivate the Phone Module (by going into flight mode) of the device in order to make a connection to the device's internal modem and send the fax, hence why it appears to cut off reception. But if it is in flight mode, how the smeg can it send a fax???!? :evil: This worries me because it casts doubt on how safe "Flight Mode" is. If one program is able to communicate with the GSM network whilst in this mode, whats to stop another program doing it whilst you are on a plane? Oh well, at least problem solved.
