Your best bet will be ebay I would have thought. Is the receiver for tom tom mobile a standard bluetooth tom tom reciever or is it a special model. I think they are the same, only the software differs. Can anyone confirm this?

on ebay they go for around £90, plus about £7 P&P, for the extra £2 i'd rather go with handnav and get a warranty, from what i've read on here they are pretty much the same receiver as the rest but tomtom tries to confirm that it is theres so allsorts has to done on the phone to make them talk. also don't know if there are any recommended receivers that anyone thinks are the bees knees? i'm open to all options

cheers

Hi, is the TomTom software a service billed monthly or is it a one time cost to purchase the software/gps reciever?

it's all free, once you've got the stuff you use it whenever you want - you can update the maps from various locations on the net (download speed camera locations etc). some of the features on it though e.g. traffic jam spotter, uses gprs (how else does it know where they are) and there is your standard network charge for this obviously
