T-Mobile Rom Upgrade Link

5 posts in this topic

Yep. And it's still the newest most upto date official rom available (although Qtek DO apparently have a radio stack version 1.15 which is newer then T-Mobile's 1.13).

Still miss my Blue Angel. Been two months since I sold it on...

Thank you for posting the link.

Apologies for the noob questions:

Can I flash my Vodafone VPX with this ROM?

Will doing so lock the handset to the T-Mobile network?

Hi Pundit,

Assuming the Vodafone VPx is definately an HTC Blue Angel then yes you should be able to install the T-Mobile rom. But if there's nothing wrong with the rom you're using then I wouldn't recommend it.

As far as the T-Mobile upgrade file, as long as your device has been unlocked for any rom then it'll run fine. If not then things are more complicated...

...in order for your device to be unlocked for any rom it must have been unlocked by www.imei-check.com or by a tool (such as those found at XDA-Developers.com) which resets the CID to factory default. By doing so the device is unlocked to any providers rom.

I used to have a VPx and I was able to use any rom on it with a special upgrade tool available from another forum for xda's ;)

Although using that tool has more risk than a normal upgrade as it ignores all the parameters and does not check the rom file before flashing so if the rom is corrupt it may well destroy the bootloader and leave you with an expensive brick. So to double check, run the update normally and let it fail, at least then you know the rom you are trying to use is OK.
