Green Mobiles

5 posts in this topic

You'd think there'd be more recyclable parts, chips etc? We're quite 'green' here in South Glos with the Country's largest recycling project. A pic like that would make many locals go all cold and clammy :)

As bad as Orange are sometimes, they have a 'buyback' scheme in place, as well as a freepost address to send your old and battered mobiles for recycling.

The buyback scheme basically means you get money back on your new contract or upgrade if you take in an old phone that still functions. At the moment I believe its ?100 on a new contract(!).

From there, OR send the phones off in a big blue box to somewhere called 'shields' and they're recycled or reconditioned when they arrive.

Pretty smart.

We recycle phones in my school to raise money for the Joshua foudnation. We're quite green down here too. My local council (The R.C.T.) have set up quite a few recycling schemes over the past 2 years and everyone seems to be coorporating too :D Good because its my future, please dont throw it away :)

I wonder how many really get recycled properly in the end?
