T-Mobile launching Web'n'Walk for PAYG

T-Mobile are bringing out a PAYG version of their Web'n'Walk bundle in August, where users are charged 0.73p per kb, but with a maximum charge of ?1 per day. Better than Orange's unlimited GPRS for ?1 a day as you don't have to enable the bundle for the day (it's automatic) and you could spend less than ?1 if your usage is low (less than around 1.3MB)

It's also available for 3G devices - unlike Orange (their ?1 unlmited GPRS offer is 2G only, unavailable to 3G customers).

The other interesting bit is: "It will also be available to pay monthly customers from 1st December."

Competition is hotting up now, nobody had previously cared much for the PAYG sector in terms of data - first Orange with the unlimited bundle, now T-Mob.

Things are looking good over at T-Mobile these days :)

Woah, that is just amazing!

Question - can you port from a number from O PAYG to T-Mobile PAYG, or is that a service reserved for contracts only?

Yeah, you can do that without a problem. People do similar things to get backdoor upgrades (old O contract to Virgin PAYG to new O contract in 38 days).

Shouldn't there be a space between "with" and "web'n'walk ?

Just a thought - we all know I never make typos and proof read all my posts perfektly... :)

Just to add context (took a while to figure it out), you're referring to the T-Mobile webpage showing their Press Release about this, and they said "withweb'n'walk", missing out a space.

I searched up and down the thread looking for it but couldn't see it! Found it in the end though :)

How is 1.3MB better than unlimited exactly?

Stupidly, I did the same.

Then I read your post.

They are both unlimited for ?1 / day but with T if you use less than 1.3Mb you get charged less than ?1 :D

Having never used less than 1.3Mb in a day it wouldn't suit me! T is also beter because you don't have to "apply" for it each day, if you use it you get charged upto ?1/day if you don't use it you don't get charged - simple :)

Ah i see, maximum use made sound like ?1 was the upper limit :)

However, in O's defence they allow VoIP, IM, Modem use etc.... :D

For 2G only. You can't use the unlimited on a 3G account (won't activate).

Nope you're right. Unofficially though you can activate it on 3G with a text message...
