Are you an Orange business customer? Are you itching to get your hands on the HTC Excalibur based SPV E600, the QWERTY'd wonder we also know as the T-Mobile Dash / HTC S620? Then you're in luck! ;)

Orange have now added the E600 to their business site, and the handset is available for immediate purchase.

Orange state...

"Verstaility is the key to the The SPV E600, with the ability to select from either Microsoft® Active Sync or BlackBerry® Connect, to sync with your corporate email and receive calendar updates... ...Benefit from the svelte and compact design, with a full QWERTY keyboard and a large screen, composing emails and viewing attachments is almost as easy as if you were in the office. And when you’re out of the country, even continent, thanks to quad band technology it's not problem – so that’s one less thing to worry about."

Not sure what 'verstaility' is, but I sure want some of it :D

Full details can be found on the E600 page, a PDF Spec Sheet is also available.

Thanks to MoDaCo member 'sxywill2005' for the heads up!

Does any mobile supplier check their published spec details on their website? or is it a new ploy to get sales ;)

Dimensions on the picture are 63mm wide but thats not what they've stated underneath....

>Dimensions

>height 111.5mm

>width 32.5mm - Unless the Excalibur/M600 is foldable widthways ( a great new form factor!) I guess this is wrong and it should say 63mm width

>depth 12.6mm

>weight 160g (with standard battery)

At least the attached spec sheet and picture are correct - or are they ? It also says it has an SD card slot - thought it had a miniSD?

Regards

Craig

Er no, it's not. It's REALLY nice... and my S620 (same device) tips the scales at a shade under 120g. Another incorrect stat?

I still like the form factor, wasn't there also a 3g version of this phone announced some time ago - I think it got put on hold. Is the screen reinforced on this as it's a smartphone edition?

Thanks

Craig

Yeah, the 3G version (Cavalier) isn't confirmed by anyone yet tho.

Yes, the screen is 'reinforced'...

I just had a look at a few reviews and the weight does seem to be 119 grams. Much better than 160 grams.

Does any one know if it would be upgradable to WM6?

Its technically possible (T-Mobile are releasing an upgrade for the Dash) but whether or not the E600 gets an upgrade is down to Orange.

I phoned Orange business this morning for information and price plans for the 'HTC Excalibur based SPV E600'. They new nothing about it and told me to try and order it direct from the web.

But they did confirm to me that the SPV E650 'VOX' is listed on their PC with an April release date (but subject to change) and includes WM6 and is not a business phone and existing customers can upgrade to the E650. ;)
