Has anyone got this right yet? I tried with one of my sitcom episodes a while ago but it was pretty sketchy. Any preferences out there for settings and apps used to get vids onto the beastie?

I encode my movies with PocketDivXEncoder (http://www.pocketdivxencoder.net) which is free, works great and is easy to use and watch them on the treo with the "The Core Pocket Media Player" (http://tcpmp.corecodec.org/about) which is also free and quite powerful. I've been using these two even before i had my treo on my SPV C500. And rarely had problems. Sometimes PocketDivXEncoder cant encode a file but that happens to only about 2-3% of my video files.

A 25 minute Scrubs episode encoded at maximum picture and audio quality at 320x240 come at around 65-70mb. It plays perfectly smooth and with great quality.

Hmm, i tried the Core player but it was choppy as hell. I don't think i've tried that encoder yet, so i'll give it a shot; most probably my quicktime encoding was up the pole.

Thanks for the info

No problem.

You're right probably your encoding wasnt that good. Try pocketdivxencoder, even on the less powerful C500 i never had a problem with choppiness unless the resolution was very high.
