11 days with no news?

No reaction from arguably the world's leading WinMobile site on the biggest competition this year in the form of the 3g iPhone?

Where are you?!

And the iPhone isn't as big news as Apple would like you to think.

It's nice enough, but not for me personally. Perhaps the first one was over-hyped, I'm just not very interested.

If you want iPhone news Engadget have loads from what I hear.

I have far too much time on my hands for at least the next 6 months so more than happy to post news stories.

IMHO it doesn't matter that the iPhone is not WM, the fact remains that is huge competition for all the mobile platforms.

The iPhone is over hyped and feature less... :( I've been ranting about it far too much on XDA-Developers...

If you feel like trusting a teenager, I'll hang around the net for news :D (got three 45 minute papers next week, then I'm free for the whole summer! :o)

I tuned into the iPhone 3G announcement and while the iPhone definitely has good points and 3G is a must-have nowadays, I was somewhat disappointed there seemed to be little other improvement? 3G = good, GPS = good, 2MP cam = bad, no storage slot = bad, no replaceable batt = bad (etc)

The only "revolutionary" thing in the new iPhone is the 3G... The rest is the same. They could (probably) added MMS, Video, a better camera (and for that matter, a forward facing camera) and some other things, but they didn't. I'm going with they're trying to get even more money before they release iPhone 3, with some decent kit and make all the Apple fan boys (or those so stunned by the low price tag that somehow works out more expensive than the last one...) buy yet another piece of iCra*...

I don't think they compete for the same markets, but the iPhone is/should inspire people (not least the OEMs) to look at things in new ways.

Not sure I stumble over enough news-worthy stuff myself, but happy to join in when I do.

Apples marketing department seems to think the iPhone caters for the needs of WM users and that market segment...

Paul sign me up too. Just tried to PM you, but it's not working in IE7 nor Firefox.

I regularly get frustrated when I see news happening and try to submit on the site.

That's a bit harsh. I have various win mob devices, a Centro and an iPhone. They're all good devices with good and bad points and one or another will be more suitable than the rest for different people. Each to their own, if anyone doesn't think the iPhone has some very very good points then they need to wake up, get a grip on their winmob fanboyism and smell the coffee. At the moment winmob devices are superior in their feature specs and application wise but the latter will most certainly change when 3rd party apps get sold. 35% of Fortune 500 co's are developing apps for the iPhone....how many are doing the same for winmob? Windows is on version 6...the iPhone is version 2. This innovation is great for everybody as it will make our devices better and easier to use and for that, we should all be cheering!!

Me, I'm pining for the next treo 800 or 850 or I might even get myself a wee HP ipaq 900 instead and I will most certainly get the 3g iPhone too. The iPhone is great to use and what it does it does better than any other device out there at the moment...music, video, pics...in other words it does what I need it to do, on a mobile device, extremely well.

I agree, I think the WinMo is far more customisable ... but requires generally the user to be more techie than an iphone. The user experience and overall gloss of the iphone is better. I love my iPod touch, and the safari browser takes a lot of beating.

I'm almost considering a new iphone to see if I can cope with it.

I am however waiting patiently for Android, and think MoDaCo needs to get ready for this and include it within the forums. Build a userbase now.

I'm working day 51 in a row and still another 12 or so before a day off (and yes I know I've exceeded the supposed working hours I'm allowed to do) one person left for another job and one off sick so i've ended up doing more than usual.

So not much spare time to do anything aprt from a front garden redesign which I started last month.

Still active lurking thought when I get breaks at work to keep the site clean from spam etc. Thanks to those that help by using the Report button.

I thought Nedge was doing news?
