I got Omnia i900V from Vodafone UK, If I update my phone with DXHIJ rom is that affect my warranty? or is the warrantry void if I update this ROM? please answer ASAP if possible

I tried updating the HJ1 ROM and it stopped suddenly.

Now i cant turn on my Omnia, only the On/Off led shows red.

Can anyone please help me?

I think you should just call your customer service centre and find out. Different countries might have different policies. If you are scared to reflash, then dont do it unless it comes from the Samsung website!

Hi Guys,

I was reading all the codes in the top of this forum and noticed there are codes for Australia.

I was wondering if any one knows a way to change mine to a AUS i900 with in one of the downloaded ROMS?

Or can any one tell me how to remove and replace the service provifers with in the phone i want to add all the Aus phone providers, So i can use dam wap and be able to send and receive mms with no problems and extra data charges.

And has any one worked out how to expand the Program memory to use part of the 8/16Gig storage?

And if some one cooks up a ROM and adds more stuff and removes some things how bad would this affect the overall size of the program size?

My i900 phones version is PDA: i900DXHH3/DZHH3 PHONE: i900DXHH3

Dear Tech Gurus,

2 rookie questions regarding ROM upgrades, please advise:

1. Do I have to reinstall all the programs/apps (like tomtom, games etc) after ROM upgrade?

2. If these are not Samsung official ROM releases, are these the beta releases from samsung? When will DXHJ1 be available on samsung site?

There is problem withe DXHI2 rom. Enhanced GPS takes like 10-15 minutes to download 0.5 KB of data. This can be fixed by replacing the GPS_XTRA.exe.

Working GPS_XTRA.exe can be found here on the forum and it works really well. It will download data instantly.

Sorry don't have the exact link. just look for "GPS_XTRA"

Can someone tell me please what is the difference between DXHI2 and DXHJ1, besides that the DXHJ1 is newer.

I would like to now whats changed/fixed in DXHJ1.

Maybe Paul can post updates next to the download links, that way we would instantly see what's fixed in an ROM version.

Cheers for reply. Tried using an old xp laptop and using Ice Mans instructions. Everything went fine till I did the work round for missing com port problem. Did the soft reset after "hardware installed" message and nothing. One bricked Omnia! Just got the red power light after trying to restart it. It was under 14 days so got a doorstep swap! :o

My new one is-

PDA: i900XXHHD/ACHH3

Phone: i900BUHH2

Think I'll wait a while before I try again!!! I was hoping to sort out the Vodaphone Reception though!! :D

nothing happen to ''brick'' phone ;)

NOTE: for any one want UPDATE (do follow instructions )

* and unplug any USB, that connect to your PC , JUST ONLY OMNIA>>>PC

i thing it very interesting while U UPDATE ROM for OMNIA {it make your phone perfect , maybe dead(please don't)}

zep! U still have another chance . if your phone >> brick >> bring them to SAMSUNG SERVICE :P still garanti

Hi Paul and all,

I am from Singapore was previously using the DXHI1 firmware and had decided to update to DXHJ1.

This is not my first time flashing the firmware but I think I just screwed up my phone... As usual, i have the activesync 4.5 and the modem drivers installed in my PC and I've followed the instruction as usual. After the update ends with the program saying "Phone updated" with no error message, my phone is stucked at the "Samsung Omnia" startup screen and nothing is loading after 10mins of waiting...

Can you advise what I should do to save my phone before I have no choice but to send to the service centre to get it repaired?

hi, me face this problem b4, some time it is the pc usb speed giving this kind of problem, try to flash it using another PC if posible use a slower speed like P3.....

Anyway i got my problem solved by using the Grandprix to restore the firmware.

Hi all,

Im new here and hoping to get some help from you guys.

I recently got a new i900 and looking to see if there is a firmware upgrade for it or if I can try one of the new firmwares from other region.

My versions are:

PDA: i900JVHI1/JVHI1

Phone: i900JVHH4

I would like a new firmware that will improve specifically on battery life.

All suggestions would be highly appreciated.
