Anyone using their G1 on Three UK ?

Hi,

I have a unlocked T-Mobile G1 Android and have an issue and was wondering if anyone knows how to solve it.

I have created an APN for three with three.co.uk as the APN. All works fine when I have 3G coverage, but when I have 2G coverage I cannot get ant Internet access at all. I can make and receive calls no problem.

I get the roaming icon and have allowed data roaming.

Anybody know how to solve this ?

Those who have it working and have 3g reception just select the use 2g networks option under settings, wireless controls, mobile networks and see if it still works.

Basically this leaves me dead in the water.

Thanks

use the folloing settings

Name - 3

Apn - 3internet

proxy - not set

port - not set

Username - not set

Password - not set

Server - not set

MMSC - http://mms.um.three.co.uk:10021/mmsc

MMS proxy - mms.three.co.uk

MMS port - 8799

MCC - 234

MNC - 20

APN type - not set

Ensure that the APN is 3internet, and not three.co.uk

This works perfectly although you have to have Data Roaming turned on... I think this is because Three only operates on 3G signal and sponges off Orange for 2G... correct me if I'm wrong!

does the market work for 3 as well.

Mine is just a bog standard t-mobile one that has been unlocked, anything else i need to do to get everything?

Also, seen some horror messages about roaming messages.. does this apply to the UK too?

thanks

Alan
