Forgotten keypad PIN number

Guess who has been an idiot and forgot the keypad PIN number?? <_< (Not the SIM card's PIN number, it's the keypad's PIN number)

Apart from doing a hard reset, is there a way to bypass it? I have some data & text messages that I want to keep...

If it's any help, I can dock my phone and can see all of the files on the phone & my memory card from my computer. I also can see the registry from my computer (CERegEditor)

Maybe a registry file placed in the startup folder to wipe the PIN number, assuming it's saved in the registry?

Thanks all.

if you ever sync'ed the device with a computer that has activesync go back to that computer and sync it, activesync will automatically unlock it, if you told it to do that, otherwise your SOL

Thanks for the reply.

I plugged it in and it did a sync without any issue, but it didn't unlock it automatically - I still see the lock screen. However I haven't typed in the PIN number yet because the timeout for next retry is at 26 mins and counting down.

The more incorrect PIN number I type in, the more timeout it increased!

Will wait until it timed out and I will retry the PIN number.

can you browse the mobile from the desktop?

maybe you can locate the files that contain the stuff you want to keep,

copy them off,

then hard reset?
