Smart Phone not Liquid Battery Issue

Took my Acer up to the wild north of England where GPRS is about the best you can hope for.

I have Weather, FeedR RSS feeds, Facebook and Mail etc auto synching.

Down in the HSDPA enabled south this works fine with me usually getting home with the battery running into the yellow and a quick charge sets me up.

Up north on GPRS nothing ever completes so the cellular part of this is on all the time leading to a warm phone (great for hands) and a flat battery.

Moral of story: if you are not in 3G coverage turn off all your synching options
