Pinch Zoom and 3rd Party Keyboard

5 posts in this topic

Hey guys,

I hope everyone is enjoying their Desire..

Anyone notice that pinch zooming in the browser doesn't work with 3rd party keyboards?

I don't know if it's just mine or it's a bug..

I'm using swype keyboard and also a few other keyboards in different languages.

You're definitely not the only one having this problem: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=656177

Unfortunately no solution yet :P

For the time being it seems you can only have one or the other.

Ah figured it out!

Go to the browser, enable the third party keyboard, exit and restart the phone.

Pinch and zoom should work and you should be able to swap keyboards without any problems with pinch zoom again.

Glad you found a solution. FWIW I raised this issue on the Swype forum & a couple of Droid 2.1 users replied saying they've never had this problem so I guess it might be Desire specific.
