Best base CF03 or DC22 6.5.0 (21xxx) ROM?

Topic pretty much says it all. I'm trying to get my brother to flash his phone, he still has some ancient version of the stock ROM from a few years ago that doesn't even have working GPS.

In any case, pretty much everything needs to work, so I'm wondering if there are any decent base ROMs that are based on a final build of 6.5.0. Even better would be one based on DC22.

Anyone?

I have a Lite rom that is DC22 based with just about everything removed, its very fast and has lots of memory free.. But i would suggest waremikes DC22 based titanium rom if he needs things like office or tethering right after flash.

I flashed to Waremike's DC22 23557 M2D2. So far it's been rock solid. Not overly impressed with DC22 yet though; almost seems a little laggy compared to 28223 - but I haven't been running it that long, so we'll see.....

OK,

I thought I would share a "Somewhat" clean DC22 base ROM from 28232.

It needs to be taped on the top left corner after first boot.

That's the cost of skiping the "Chase the Cross".

I found that waremike's advice of hard reset after first boot is a good thing.

I do the stylus in the hole then Send + End then Send.

I got rid of the security warning for program installs.

Cooked in are:

thekevster_black_calculator

BubbleBreaker

CustomTheme (Thanks to storm)

Default_IM

Keyboard_Black (Thanks to lioryte)

MortScript-4_2-PPC EXT Package

PACKAGE_TF_HTC_Album_2_0

PDC_v1.1.10 Check my Public folder at 4shared for Fonts.

Samsung Power Calculator

SDK Certs

SJ KeybSkin_OSXBlue

Solitaire

TaskbarBlue

The .bin file and a bunch of other .cab files are there.

I will post screenshots soon...

DC_28232_NW14PP_04.bmp DC_28232_NW14PP_05.bmp

05 is a 500mA fuse and a 2.7 oHm thin film resistor, tiny ain't it.

DC_28232_NW14PP_06.bmp DC_28232_NW14PP_07.bmp

DC_28232_NW14PP_08.bmp

The ROM: Remember to flash the DC22 update, Hard reset then flash one of these.

Also, after first boot you need to tap the top left of the screen for the first time.

That's a result of removing the calibration screen...

EDIT:

Looks like I stirred a little intrest. Let me know if any one want's 23557, 25014, 23113, 21898, and I guess 21647 (Yuck).

I'm cookin the 23577 just for those who want it.

Enterprise is the only one I can't decide on. I'll wait for some input.

I'm testing 25014. Edit: Camera Portrait Font issue.

Update:

In keeping with the OP, Here comes DC22_21898_PUB hot off the griddle...My Favorite..Still has a few dead shortcuts.

DC22_21898 is up.

If I get any better at this, I might have to start my own thread....Maybe...

DC22_25014_PUB is up. It has that Camera Portrait Font issue. If I can figure it out I will re-up it. Works fine in landscape.

Remember to flash the DC22 update at least once before flashing these DC22 ROMs.

Anyone hungry for a 21899...??

Come and get it...

http://www.4shared.com/dir/12702333/dc2d4535/sharing.html

I used the Minimal_OEM files that peperonikiller moded from my files.

FM Radio can be installed form the .cab file.

I also upped a sound file of an insect & rodent repeller. It really works.

ENJOY...

Thanks! This is exactly what I was looking for. 21898 is running great.

Now I'll be moving to 6.5.3 again, but my brother is sticking with 6.5.

Anybody know how to/if you can get the Day of the Week in the titanium home screen underneath the date? Is there some reg. edit I can do??? Any advice would be great!

Also, I found that Nils' ROM is pretty awesome. I don't think it's on here ... I got it at BGill/Evidence's site, OmniaRom com. So, maybe check that out ... there are Titanium and M2D only versions of his ROMs. They all look pretty sweet.

Also check out the ElectronicRepellentSounds.7z. They realy work...

I will test it some more...

EDIT2: 21901 is finished. Could'nt get SIP Change to stick. Download Default_IM.cab. It's ugly but it works. Uploading now..

Ok I have a totally newbi question for you, What do all those numbers mean? What is the difference between 25014 and 21898? How would I know which one to use? I know I have the DC22 update, so I know I need a ROM built on that.

I am looking for a base rom that has most everything removed and yours looks to be one of the cleanest I have seen. Thanks

Second that... what do those numbers mean?

Those are the build numbers.

The 21xxx builds have the start button on the top.

See above..

DC_28232_NW14PP_08.bmp

index.php?act=attach&type=post&id=53736

The 28xxx and 250xx & 231xx, have the start button on the bottom.

But will require some "Special" adjustments to make some applications look proper on our i910's.

(ShowcaseSuite fixes that)

The 235xx builds have the start button on the bottom, but are made to run with "Threaded Email".

This also intergrates with Internet Explorer. (You have to use the "ZOOM Browser).

There are so many other people here and in other threads that could explain this much better then I.

If you don't use MMS, then run one of my ROMs.

JUST BE SURE TO HAVE FLASHED THE DC22 UPDATE FIRST...

Then hard reset the unit after first boot. To clear out any "Leftover" files...

I prefer 21901.

But you could try the 28232 (It has a few Usless Dead shortcuts) just to see what the fginger friendly look & feel is all about...

Enjoy,

cac2us.

Just uploaded DC_22_23654_BI14ppMMS.bin.

It has Arcsoft 5.0 & WindowsLive 10.7.

Icons from whiteblazer00.

http://www.4shared.com/dir/12702333/dc2d4535/sharing.html

I also have 23118 cooked & testing. I don't have a way to test MMS, but the option now shows up and displays picture insertion.

I think the settings for server need to be adjusted. It shows Sprint or something.

QUOTE(unchoney @ Apr 20 2010, 12:24)

tried the Titanium excellent can compose mms now but wont send? Keep getting cannot connect?

try going to mms inbox and then hit the menu botton, scroll all the way through the menu that pops up until you see MMS Options. go to the profile tab, highlight mms, then hit edit profile. if MMS is not present in the profiles you'll have to create it.

Make sure you have these settings under the profile.

MMS Profile: MMS

MMSC: http://mms.vtext.com/servlets/mms

Data Connections: Data Network Connection (or Mobile Broadband depending on how you have your connection named)

Gateway: None

IP Address: leave this part blank

Port: 0

__________________________________________________________________________

Mine uses "Broadband Access"

Let me know if any one wants a ROM cooked with/without the "Bloatware".

I can also cook with the standard Icons.

Also Pagepool prefrence.

UPDATE: FLASH_DC22_23118_BI14ppMMS.bin is uploaded.

Enjoy...
