Download: http://www.mediafire.com/?y2yenojy2ey

Size: 2.14 MB

How to install

adb remount

adb push uberdropliquidbootanimation.zip /system/media/bootanimation.zip

adb reboot

Info

AFAIK works on all Eclair ROMs. Tested on LCR 1.5.

Original video material from Discovery Channel, Time Warp:

I used SMPlayer portable to extract frames as PNGs and Photoshop to batch edit and downscale.

Thanks and credz to liquid_it for guide and "Acer Liquid" animation at the end of old low quality version.

I tried to use full resolution (480x800) for high quality version, but then it skipped loads of frames.

Use it if you like it! :)

Nice catch :) I was looking for such drop for a while too to make own boot animation.

I also think it can be better quality.

I made it low quality to keep the file size down. Afaik it will affect internal memory space (correct me?).

But I can make one with better quality. :) How good quality do you want? How many MBs?

You can keep best quality and try to make less frames, but does it matters if its bigger - I think there is enough space in /system to keep lets say 10MB :)

Ok, I'll make one around 10MB and speed up the last part, maybe try one with half framerate ...

ETA later today ;)

what software/settings do you use to creat the .zip?

i tried to make my own boot animation ending up with black screen...

tried unzipping your file with winrar and create a .zip with normal compression settings, also black screen....

I used liquid_it's LCR boot.zip, and his guide.

Opened the zip with 7zip, then I just deleted the images and replaced them with my own.

The reason it didn't work could be that the file size or the resolution of the images is too big (480x800 skipped loads of frames when i tested, 240x400 but ~same file size didn't). And I don't know which image formats it takes except png.

i used 216 x 360, png, didnt work, but then i didnt downscale to 8-bit, i see that might be the reason

thanks for the file and instruction, do you mind uploading to other sites like speedyshare? megaupload doesnt work for my region...

many thanks

As soon as I watched that Discovery Channel vid you linked, I said I had to have it. Nature is amazing.

Glad you liked it, ~150 downloads!

And included in Batista70Phone 1.8.3 rom!

@navygino

Here is a special version, only for you, with liquid-it's loop at the end (like low quality version) instead of my loading text which apparently is " :) "
