249 posts in this topic

Hello all,

Benko286 over at XDA asked if anyone could convert this boot img.

So i did and here it is

aniu.gif

***29/05/2010*** Updated ver..

Which includes the full android animation now :D

Second link..

Only plays once, will have a mess about to get it to loop. Original creator of this nice animation is RR33, big thanks to him!

Instructions in Ubuntu 10.04 lts.

I installed it as follows..

1), Put your desire into recovery...

From r5 root methord - thanks to paul @ Modaco

Entering recovery in future

Included with the root script is a script for entering recovery in the future. To use...

	* Turn on the device with the volume button held down

	* Navigate to the 'RECOVERY' option on the menu, using the volume buttons to move and the power button to select.

	* In your terminal window, enter either 'recovery-windows.bat', './recovery-mac.sh' or './recovery-linux.sh' as appropriate.

	* It is recommended that you do NOT use the 'USB mount' functionality in the recovery image!

Obviously were are using ./recovery-linux.sh in this guide
2), Then issue command
# sudo ./adb-linux push bootanimation.zip /data/local

Making sure bootanimations.zip is in the root of the adb folder on your pc.

3), Now highlight the reboot phone option and select it, Reboot and enjoy!!

Also...

You can install bootanimations from your phone with "Root explorer" in the android market, just copy the bootanimation to your SDcard, then copy it to /data/local

If you like my efforts, you can buy me a beer!! lol send to [email protected] through paypal... (Remove #'s). Thankyou d[(~..~)]b

Nice, but it's a little bit fast. Not to mention it could be cool if it would freeze on the quietly brilliant part rather than change the whole screen.

Lol, if its too fast YOU change it, Its dead easy..... Or just use the first one in post 1, that stops at Quietly brilliant

Anyway i have another to test!!

This one is the same boot run once, but now with added Dancing Droids XD

Have a go

And yes i know the dancing droids get faster, i still have not found the correct timing format :D

A You tube video is here, admittedly its a crap video, but the the original boot image is a high quality, This just gives you an idear of what it is

DOWNLOAD HERE ..................

This will eat up 12 MB of precious internal memory...

Just another thing: all animations are a bit blurry, is that by design?

Yes the bigger files will take up more space..... of precious memory.................

The blur:

Yes that happened afteer i converted the images, i will have another bash later and try some diff conversion options to keep the image from bluring.

But like i said their still only testers, so dont expect them all to be the best looking.

I almost have the procedure down to a T, so whem im back home i will do some more.

If anyone has any animations they would like to see for future bootanimations, please post the files and i will convert for you.

But only 24bit .png please, less work for me , but i can work from .jpgs and most other image formats

You're the one following me. You were the first to initiate interpersonal relationship! You even suggested we make it intimate!

Are you trying to make me react? Won't work, being stereotypical is pretty low. You obviously can't take a bit of criticism in your work.

No LOL, Unlike you i dont just tell people their work is crap even if it is... Thats LOW as you said.

I can take criticism as long as its constructive, but yours was in no way constructive just demeining!

I mean if you said "No offence but it looks like crap, but if you did this, or changed that i think that would work" < CONSTRUCTIVE

But you lirtally said " No offence but its crap!" << NOT CONSTRUCTIVE

Can you see the diffrence??, You you like me to wiki constructive criticsm for you?

Lets just drop the whole thing and get back to helping the community!!,

After all thats why were here right?

I mean we could argue all day about nothing, but whats going to be the end result????, thats right nothing......
