Hello everyone,

So i've decided it's time to ditch my HTC Tytn II and want to get an Android phone, almost got a Dell Streak but O2 messed me about so I gave up but in the meantime i've come across this phone.

Haven't seen on in the flesh yet but from the pics i've seen it looks lovely and pretty much what i'm after, however i've seen people mentioning things like Samsung propietary rfs and odin setup, I have no idea what that means and how it would affect the phone (and future custom ROMS)

Any suggestions? Should I look at getting this or wait for something else?

I think if you're looking at Android, the i9000 is a good phone, and certainly the Nexus One is a winner. Moto Droids are fairly good, the Droid X looks like an i9000 competitor (screen size wise). I've currently got a Nexus One, but ordered the i9000 last week, purely because of the 4" Super Amoled screen. The main draw back of the N1 is the screen out doors. If you can live with it, then of all of the phones, go a N1 (or Desire is another option)

Just remember that the only phone running 2.2 is the N1 right now, and you can be assured that the N1 (being a Google Phone) will have every single Android update before any other phone manufacturer on the market gets the SDK, which puts the N1 firmware updates around 6-12 months in front of everyone else!

I just got one, had a nexus one but like this far more...... Screen is awesome even compared to the N1 and the multitouch is far better than the N1 also and rocks the n1 for speed especially in 3d..

froyo is going to come out for this one they say... which will be nice....

Hoping we get some custom roms going for this phone soon.. I think its going to be a popular phone.... it is surely one of the nicest android if not the nicest out there right now...

Had Nexus One and HTC Desire and currently got the SGS.

This thing is awesome and it has a stable and fast enough OS as it is so future updates Im sure will come for it, but I dont mind waiting a short while for them.
