As the Droid X is CDMA only there is no point in buying it in Ireland.

What is considered the equivalent (specification wise) phone in Europe to the Droid X?

no droid x gsm has been announced yet =( , definitely it will have a different name, since droid is verizon's property

There is a very similar GSM phone available here in Europe, it's called Motorola Milestone XT720. Specs are mostly the same, biggest difference is the camera-part going over the full length of the device instead of just the top.

the XT720 has the same CPU as the droid/milestone and the same 3.7" screen. It's basically a milestone but with better camera and no keyboard.

I think I will wait until the end of the year. Hopefully they will release something similar to the Droid Incredible or Droid X on GSM in Europe.

They seem to be neglecting us a bit on this side of the pond. :/
