iTunes remote

Looking for an application for controlling itunes from the android. There is a free app called TunesRemote that works, but it doesn't seem to "remember" your pairing so you have to re-pair your remote to your itunes every time you want to use it, and it often doesn't work or often crashes. Outside of that it does exactly what I want, just disappointing it's so... well, bad.

I notice there is a paid app called simply Remote Control for iTunes, but I am worried that a) $4.99 is a bit much for a simple app that i could probably use some kind of full PC remote or VNC viewer for instead if i really needed to, and :D can't be sure it doesn't have the same issues as the free app above.

Does anybody out there know if there are other alternatives for itunes remotes on android?
