So, I've pre-ordered one of these with the 3G's and the WiFies (and hopefully the bigger geebees).

Does anyone else think it looks like the vega?

I wonder if the codebase is similar. Hoping that the work paul has done for the vega can be replicated here!

If it is, I'd be very interested to know if the gps and 3g are just plugins. But I cant imagine being that lucky. I believe the extra gb's is just the microsd slot?

Sure looks the same!

GPS is part of the 3G chipset. I imagine it is a plugin module, but depends if the antennas are in the non 3G case!

Are you 100% sure ?

I initially thought that the GPS functionality on my Samsung Galaxy Tab was a-GPS (i.e. coarse location based on wifi or 3G signal), but there is actually a dedicated Broadcom BCM4751 chipset onboard. Could be the same on the WSL P10AN01 variants.

Sure looks like the Vega. The port on the bottom is in the same location and everything else pretty much matches...

What did the price come to in pounds with shipping?

Seems the same yeah, the home screen is the same as the one on the POV Mobii 10 (the entire thing seems the same, apart from 3G/GPS). It's a 3D-launcher but I preferred the stock one or zeam/launcherpro anyway.

£311 - That's £62 for GPS / 3G module? Surely that's pretty expensive? And you'd still have to have it shipped from Oz..... Although that may well be faster than waiting for Dixons to get their act together.

Hmm - beginning to think it may be worth the wait until AFTER Xmas to see what's about.

ANyone else waiting? or quite happy with the current offering? 3G is of no use to me, but the GPS would be. If someone can get Google earth or similar working with external GPS from a smartfone then i'm all in for this version!

Ive got a phone that can handle up to 3.5G and has a decent GPS not to mention I have a proper GPS unit for hill walking/field work. And I can't really afford 3G on a students budget anyway so its not really a big factor if I was really desperate I could just tether the phone and use its internet easily enough. Personally I would be more interested in a hard drive for the vega than 3g a 250 - 500Gb drive would be great.
