If you have the beta kernel still then yes definitely worth the change. It's based on a release rom not a beta rom. It now has a kernel compiled from source with the option of overclock.

Plus kallte is quick to fix issues. Paul supports too many devices and is a busy bloke so doesn't have the time to focus mainly on the Blade. As much as he does a great job.

In what way? Don't say just that, give reasons.

Japanese Jellyfish plus points.

Don't have to pay to get newest version straight away.

Overclockable.

Kernel compiled from source.

Rom is a release version.

Stock lockscreen as default.

Fast updates.

Modaco minus points.

Have to pay for newest version straight away.

Beta kernel.

Beta rom.

ZTE lockscreen yuk!

Paul supports loads of devices so not always working on Modaco Blade rom.

EDIT:

Good point i thought he said alpha 4.

I've still using Paul's r4 and not upgraded as I don't have time atm to look at all the different 'flavours' on offer, but even I would make such a comment without even trying it - have you tried KK's Jap Jelly - that is based on the official Kernal release?

No it's better than that - It's based on a proper Build from source of the ZTE Kernel release

And It's had some work already (in source code) to improve it.

I'm using Paul's alpha5, I flashed the new kernel to it (thanks to Flibble) and it works perfectly, if I were the OP I'd do a nandroid backup and try the new kernel :D

I've been using all the Jap Jelly ROMS, personally I think it is a battery killer. For some reason unknown to me it just kills my battery with little or no usage.

I'm using Fibbles ROM atm.

That has been adjusted in JapJelly RLS6.

I installed it (from the stock 2.1) earlier today and battery usage is just about the same as before.

It's definitely worth an upgrade to Jellyfish from the Alpha froyo, a lot of the issues have been fixed that are present in that rom, and depending on whether you're using the new kernel or not, it's also a lot more stable, I'd give RLS6 a go if I were you.

A stock lockscreen is the one shipped with stock Android - You drag one way for Unlock, the Other way for mute

The feature of having a different lock wallpaper was a feature of the Orange launcher - I don't know another launcher with this feature

Same here, no overclocking on Jellyfish but I found it really laggy at times where now I have Fibs ROM and its amazingly smooth.

  • Extra Data Space (if you TPT)

This RLS6 rom seems the most complete that I have used so far, moving from FLB rom which I used for the past 2 months.

GPS and AGPS seem to be fine and the rom looks great with the Gingerbread theme applied - it's almost like having a new phone.

I'd prefer the stock Android dialer though.

I changed ROM from MoDaCo because I was having screen freezes. I'm now using JJRLS6 in the hopes that I won't get freezes any more. I do like the Overclock with JJ.

A couple of points about Paul's ROM.

You don't need to "pay for" the new version straightaway, if you're a donator you get it free :D

Flibblesans new kernel works pefectly with it.

ZTE lockscreen is a choice in the kitchen, so a plus rather than a minus :P
