Hi, I'll admit to being a newbie,

I was wondering if the official Froyo 2.2 for ZTE Blade on the ZTE Website release has been used and found okay?

http://support.zte.com.cn/support/news/New...px?type=service

Would like some speed increase on my phone but if there is a better modded version available I would probably use that instead? What would you recommed. Thanx in advance.

The packages (source code) you have linked to, is the source code for the Kernel for the BLADE.

The Kernel sits in the Boot partition of the Phone, it starts up then the Android system starts (from the System Partition)

The code that ZTE have released is just for the 2.2 Kernel - its is very good of them to release such a gem of information and makes ROM development much much better.

However without the ROM (android ROM) that goes with t he Kernel, the only Package (Boot and System) that you can install are the ROMS listed in the first Post.

This is not such a bad thing. The underlying Kernel (if you pick a ROM that says Source in the table) is built from the code that ZTE Released.

The ROM (android ROM) is the product of a lot of work by the developer(s) who have produced it.

Hello,

I have ordered an Orange SF grey from CPW and awaiting delivery. I am keen on installing a custom ROM on my OSF. I am inclined toward the 2.2 or 2.3 versions. I request the experts to recommend a good and stable ROM of 2.2 or 2.3 version which work well on OSF without WIFI, 3G or call drops and maintain good battery life.

Looking forward to your recommendation and guidance.\

Cheers!

Tan

Actually I would receive my OSF in 2-3 days. Some people suggested that FLB Froyo is quite stable, so I plan to install FLB Froyo. I don't have much idea about Jellyfish. Hence I can't answer many of your questions :(

Following links might help:

This link lists all the ROMs available:

Please provide me the link to CPW.

Thanks

Is there anything better than the FLB Froyo? What about Gingerbread on Orange San Francisco?

You can find Gingerbread ROM on the first page of this post. But, Gingerbread is still under development. It's not as stable yet (for daily use).

I would wait for one or two months before installing it.

Hi, Steven,

Thany you for so many infos from you. I use a ZTE V9, do you have a custom ROM (2.1 or 2.2) for this device?

Thanks

I don't know of any ROM's yet

A Poll on the new ZTE devices is here

http://android.modaco.com/content/zte-blad...-vodaphone-945/

There is a clockwork thread

http://android.modaco.com/content/other/33...-zte-v9-tablet/

General V9 stuff here

http://android.modaco.com/content/other/32.../zte-v9-tablet/

All found in the OTHER forum

http://android.modaco.com/category/445/other/

I think its time we get a V9 Forum up - I am asking admins now - they should see messages Monday Morning.

Guest ulfar

hey guys,

im new here, been lurking for a couple of days (was waiting for my blade) and now it came, so i figured i might register.

on topic:

bought my blade from comviq (swedish operator), on their site they claim that the blade they sell has android 2.2, but reading a bit further it says that it has 2.1. so in this confusion i emailed comviq, asking which is true. they referred me to another company who's providing comviq with phones. this company then replied that the blades being sold are using 2.1 (and that it's clearly stated on the website, bs).

when i recieved the phone i checked the version, and it clearly says 2.2. ... ...

so, my blade has froyo? and more importantly (the reason why i posted this):

would you guys be interested in receiving a european 2.2?

edit,

yea. .. first post, first mistake.

read another thread dated yesterday. seems you already have (or soon will have) a 2.2 dump.
