Hello,

Can I use this How To ( https://sites.google.com/site/teamdroidconc...mental/compile) to create a custom ROM for Vodafone 945 / Zte Joe?

It only mentions the specific phone model here ( https://sites.google.com/site/teamdroidconc...ic-vendor-setup ) and here ( https://sites.google.com/site/teamdroidconc.../j-making-a-rom ) , can I adapt it?

Thanks

Highender, where are you from or what's your mobile carrier?

Try an Market App called "APN" for your country/carrier that configs all the network settings and solve some connection problems. Give it a try.

Hello,

I'm playing with Paul's Blade ROM (r12-update-modacocustomrom-blade-kitchen-unsigned.zip) (get it here), inspired on the ZTE V9 threads, and I managed to boot it in the Vodafone 945.

What I did:

Replaced the r12-update-modacocustomrom-blade-kitchen-unsigned.zip boot.img with the r0_update_de-vodaed_joe_signed.zip, saved the zip and called it Alpha 0.01

Alpha 0.01

What work's:

It does boot!!!

Problems:

Touch screen doesn't work - Unable to do more tests - Although I was able to scroll down and up in the shutdown menu...

Upside down screen

oversized screen

************************

Edited the build.prop file from Alpha 0.01 and set the density from 240 to 160, saved the ZIP and called it Alpha 0.02

Alpha 0.02

What work's:

It does boot!!!

Fixed the incorrect screen resolution

What doesn't Work:

Touch screen doesn't work - Unable to do more tests

Upside down screen

Now I need your help!

I did wonder around the shops in Barcelona trying to find a 945 but none of them seem to know what I was on about, I thought it was out in Spain... grrrr..

anyway, here is another version of devoda... again I have no idea if it will work, I've replaced email with a (hopefully) stock one, and a custom kernel....

can you give it another test and let me know how you get on....

The mail client is the correct one! :D

The only problem in this update is the touchscreen, it's very hard to imput... very unresponsive.

hmm, did you try giving it a few minutes, the first boot is always a but unresponsive...

next thing..

can you try setcpu and see if you can overclock it?

You might want to try restoring to the stock version and see what CPU speed you get (max and min) and let me know if its changed in r01...

Withr 01_update_de-vodaed_joe_signed.zip ROM SETCPU

Increment - 19,2 MHZ

Touch screen still very unresponsive, after several reboots.

well, one step forwards, two steps back :D

I'll look into the touch screen issue, I did notice the kernel was smaller than the stock one.....

EDIT: Oh, with the ZTE Racer, I found that 748 was the fastest I could get it before it crashed, I believe the Joe has the same CPU...

I think Blade, Joe, Racer and V9 have all the same CPU... Only SoC might be different (RAM, Cameras, Sensors...)

I'm sorry for the stupid question, but where is the kernel? How can I edit a kernel driver, touchscreen for instance?

Hi

i dont understand much about android source code compiling and decompiling, but i think you need to put in the blade rom , the LCD driver of Zte Joe, that i think you will find it in the ZTE source code (Kernel) in ZTE site.

Basically, you need to substitute tge drivers where the hardware are diffrent between Blade and joe. The LCD is different hardware.

Hi,

A portuguese Dev (Noein) created a Custom ROM for ZTE Joe / Vodafone 945.

The ROM is alpha and doesn't boot right know. The Dev asked for a logcat but I can't get it. Can anyone help me?

I think i've worked out the touch screen issue, I'll try and build a new kernel later today...

I and a few portuguese users have performed some more tests and they all pointed:

The touch screen response

keys blink when phone is sleeping

Ok..

r01_update_de-vodaed_joe_ahb_overclocked_signed.zip

Give that a go, its an addon, so install it OVER de-voda... that should/might help the touch-screen response.....

Let me know if it does...

The blinking should happen when the phone is sleeping and you have a message? or is it not that sort of blinking?
