Radio Crashes

2 posts in this topic

Posted (edited)

So I'm trying to get more information on the radio crash bug I'm experiencing (believe Paul has this issue too) on my nexus s and I'm wondering if anyone knows of any google/samsung threads on the topic, and/or how many of you are experiencing it.

Have put a poll in this thread (Nexus S owners only please). Please let me know if you've experienced it. I'll include a screenshot of the issue next time it happens (which at this rate will be within 24hrs).

If you're not sure what I'm referring to, occasionally I unlock my phone to find I have zero signal bars. Above the greyed out bars is a small x. The phone radio is unresponsive and won't clear by toggling flight mode (flight mode won't actually activate) and the issue is only cleared with a reboot.

Edit: 139 posts on the topic here at google.

Amazing that this isn't getting more coverage.

Apple had a signal attenuation issue and it gets called 'antennagate' Google/Samsung ship a phone which takes you off-air without warning and nobody bats an eyelid!

Engadget coverage on the issues yesterday: http://www.engadget.com/2011/02/15/nexus-s...a-loss-reboots/

And an update:

Huzzah! Just got a note from Google saying: "All of the issues described in the post are resolved and will be fixed with an OTA that will go out soon." Feel free to start mashing that "system updates" menu item.

Guess they mean 2.3.3?
