Thank you again for your work

Just a quick question, I can not find Kernel .08 OC compatible with the t&L .08 and the old APP2SD?

Indeed, the Kernel OC V5 of the first page of t&l topic worked perfectly with version .14 but when I activate the old version APP2SD in malez recovery with the t&l .08 I have a bootloop ...

Any idea?

Kiss from France.

6. I have battery drain fast problem!

I think it was caused by compcache.

(After many days test, the battery drain was caused by swap thrashing. So, at this moment the only thing we can do is change swapiness value)

Use COMPCACHE

1. If you want to use compache, load the script below from gscript

(I add swappiness config cmd, 0="start swapping only when absolutely needed" 100="preemtively swap out memory you are not using")

insmod /system/lib/modules/ramzswap.ko;

rzscontrol /dev/block/ramzswap0 --disksize_kb=32768 --init;

busybox swapon /dev/block/ramzswap0;

echo 30 > /proc/sys/vm/swappiness;

hello

through the above script via gscript I activate compcache..but how can activate compcache autostart at the phone start up?

thx

hi all

im using lcr-f 2.0,

after installing the kernel,

i wonder why, it seems like it persistently created swapfile on my sd?

tried to delete it, but it keeps on coming back.

i found out that it slows down my phone, and apparently overclocking didnt help.

any idea? i tried liquid setting to turn off compcache, but it gave me error.

This kernel won't start swap function by it self, and compcache use memory as swap storage instead of your sd card.

Did you use swapper or swap configuration, both apps use sd card to storage your swap data, I hope this tips will help you :(

Sorry, I'm not t&l user, maybe you can ask this question in t&l thread.

Because they do the amazing works, and they are kind to give you help.

You can try liquid setting, some people say it works, but I didn't try it yet.

I'm unable to select higher frequencies as 768Mhz in SetCPU... is there still some text file to adjust to be able to set those higher frequencies ?

I´m using latest Acer ROM 4.008.08 + T&L .08 + Kernel V2 (this one, not the one on T&L thread) and everything works as expected: up to 998Mhz.

Though on mine the phone seems somewhat more sluggish at 998MHz than at 921Mhz (which is much smoother than the stock 768Mhz).

Thanks rithchen!!

I want to have a OC kernel for a long time. I have try many custom roms before.

Most custom roms do not have my mother language or some functions are not working.

Your kernel update patch only 5MB but can do all I want.

I can use it on official ROM 4.005.05.AAP.GEN2 (Acer Liquid E).

No problems found.

Some app FC when OC to 998Mhz.

No FC when switch down to 960Mhz.

MT problem is not fully fixed.

A little bit deviation when a press up-right corner and down-right corner.

But actually better the official.

SWAP and compcache not tested because not useful for me.

What is the following feature means? I don't know how to use them.

5. fast dormancy (from acer metal source)

6. add cifs.ko nls_utf8.ko and tun.ko

I'm glad that you like my work, I use acer stock rom too. (4.003.18_AAP_FET)

So, sorry I didn't answer most custom roms question. (cause I didn't use them XD)

The fast dormancy make your modem stop kepping transfer data with your GSM staion.

It will save your battery when you don't use data. But I found metal's code is not suit for liquid.

Cause it use rpc to communicate with your radio (AMSS), and it seems not compatible :D

If anyone have any idea to hack amss.mbn?

The others are kernel modules, that can extend your kernel's ability.

You can use the name to search in this forum.

And you will find out how to use it.

you should ask koudelka or roggin, they have studied and hacked a lot about fast dormancy...

I don't know if you are right or not.

I checked chocolate kernel before, and it just use the metal code.

So I think they haven't try to hack AMSS part.

I don't really understand how android framework work when kernel tell it can support fast dormancy.

Because in this part, metal's code works, but it can't let modem dormant.

hello,

can you please specify, concerning the 32 Mb swap : is it

- dedicated swap partition

- swap file on FAT partition

- swap file on EXT partition (partition also used for APP2SD purposes)

in case of swap file, how do you make it to assign it to the partition you want ?

many thanks,

ph.

hello,

the kernel "oc_lcr_new" for LCR works fine, thanks ritchen for the great work.

i am facing the following bug : the microphone input is really too low, when recording with the stock recorder app, or any other, and during SIP phone calls :(

no issue with GSM conversation.

i can't say if the bug happens with LCR-F 2.0 only, or with both LCR-F 2.0 and ritchen kernel

can anyone report a similar issue, with or without the custom kernel ?

thanks and regards,

ph.

my configuration :

acer liquid A1

bin 4.002.14

LCR-F 2.0

ritchen kernel oc_lcr_new
