Data storage space is always a problem for Android, which is why there are a lot of app2ext and data2ext solutions. There is app2sd function build-in in Froyo (there are a lot of problems), but those methods are not as good as expanding the data storage space directly.

Instructions:

1. Backup your Internal 2G Storage, doing this will erase the internal 2G data.

2. Download the attached partition.zip to EXTERNAL SDcard, make sure there are enough space in EXTERNAL SDcard (depends on your data partition size, around 600MB is enough).

3. Disable APP2SD, DATA2EXT, SWAP.(if have)

4. Boot into recovery, do not clear/wipe, flash this package directly, same as flashing a ROM.

5. After flashing go to advanced options, choose to reboot to recovery.

6. Go into recovery again, do not clear/wipe, flash this package again directly, same as flashing a ROM.

7. Reboot device. Done. All data will be kept, no data lose, all remains the same as before, but the storage space has been changed.

Characteristics:

1. Data storage space expanded to 1.2G, internal storage space squeezed to 1.46G (you can use custpartition.bat custom your size).

2. Data storage space is expanded permanently, no matter what ROM you are going to flash, including official ROM!

3. No side-effects, very safe.

How It Works:

Changed the Huawei internal 4G ROM partition solution, squeezed 2G space to 1.46G, leftovers are given to data storage.

This is cooperation work with 凡人 from 5irom, thanks for his bravery to test it out, otherwise I will not take this step ahead, you know it is money, bricking is scaring!

thanks simplistian provide me a U8800H partition table,and translate!

This is not a ROM, this is an upgrade package, you can treat it as a simple partition solution.

1.2G DATA + 1.46G INTERNAL SD upgrade package:

http://www.mediafire.com/?dyz4uqz5a30cypy

return-to-stock partition solution upgrade package:

http://www.mediafire.com/?x72e6p4hvo3adhj

Custom Partition tool:

useage:

1. download this tool and unzip to any directory 2. run custpartition.bat, follow the prompts to enter the number 3. and custpartition.bat positions will generate the partition file 4. replace the same file in the package 5. flash the zip pack, OK!

http://www.mediafire.com/?m1nqg1y4gp5szp5

To Those Who Upgraded to V6 Before: you can reflash same ROM,replace recovery, then install this upgrade package.

Just wondering if you have a little more info....

- Should this work with both U8800 and U8800H?

- The new partition sizes are: 1.2gb Data & 1.46gb Internal SD, what are the original sizes?

- The steps below indicate you flash the same package twice, is this correct?

4. Boot into recovery, do not clear/wipe, flash this package directly, same as flashing a ROM.

5. After flashing go to advanced options, choose to reboot to recovery.

6. Go into recovery again, do not clear/wipe, flash this package again directly, same as flashing a ROM.

Thanks in Advance ;)

2、original sizes 600mb data + 2GB Internal SD

@Geno.Kolar

In your first post you changed that we need to.

To Those Who Upgraded to V6 Before: you can reflash same ROM,replace recovery, then install this upgrade package.

I don't know what V6 is and if I have done it, could you tell me more about it?

Thanks !

ALERT!!!...

i wanted today to revert to stock B135 rom, reverted to official-partition.zip as a precaution, did the procedure successfully (twice), and rebooted to restore my backup. After that, i get a constant error format /data, i plugged it in linux machine and the 2 partitions /data and /"sd" are gone, also the gparted upon start up says "Invalid partition table on /dev/sdc -- wrong signature 0." and the 3.69gb loook like unpartitioned (while i get the /cache , /system, /cache partitions correctly) any idea-help how to fix the partition table? Users that have used the partition modifier, beware when want to revert to old backups...

Perhaps the official-partition.zip really wrong, I will test that

i upload a partition file,you could replace the partition file to official-partition.zip,then flash three times.

This worked great! All my partitions seem to be back to normal again, and restoring the stock rom worked perfectly. Thanks! :P

Edit: Using this has changed a few things. The internal SD card is now labled 'U8800-MMC'? (had no label prior). Custom rom installation no longer works from B135 or B136. Perhaps there are still problems with this partition table? Either way, stock works for now at least ;)

Did you replaced the partition file inside the official_partition.zip or you used directly the partition.zip file?

has anyone successfully re-flashed the stock (unrooted) B136 ROM after using this mod? I have the B160 at the moment and am thinking about going back to B136 - don't want to brick my phone!

Will it work if I leave the partitions as they now are and re-flash the ROM?

Noticed that too. The official_partition.zip should not label the internal SD, I think. Could make problems if you need to return the phone for service.

I altered the line

run_program("/tmp/busybox", "mkfs.vfat", "-v", "-n", "U8800-MMC", "/dev/block/mmcblk0p14");
in the file updater-script in official_partition.zip to
run_program("/tmp/busybox", "mkfs.vfat", "-v", "-n", "", "/dev/block/mmcblk0p14");

and that removed the label from the internal SD.

I have a U8800H.

My Phone Storage seems to also be 600MB but the Internal SD is reported as 5,75GB total.

Can I use this as is or will I need to modify for the larger card?

Hi,

If we do that should be able to restore previous image of the system or should be able to update our system to the future versions?

I read over internet forums that after this merge of space some people had problems.

I only can see in settings - about phone, that I've 893MB internal memory available.

Before the internal memory was only 600MB available?
