Are you sure that is the skate? My monte carlo does not have any silver on it other than the earpiece.

Also the camera is a different shape

i've seen plenty of posts elsewhere saying that it is an unbranded zte blade (looks like they branded the case not the os!) and it should be sim unlocked if my french law knowledge serves me well.

this site kind of confirms it's made by zte at least - the official bluetooth site: http://www.bluetooth.com/Pages/Product-Listing-Detail.aspx?ProductID=17514

200e = 175gbp, so way overpriced compared the the orange monte carlo, but cheap for an unbranded/unlocked zte skate.

I think that,

SFR Staraddict is Skate in cool looking casing.

SFR Startrail is Blade in ugly casing. ;)

The page says that Staraddict has 4,3" screen so it must be Skate. It's also been on the threads before that they are going to rebrand Skate as SFR Staraddict.

Startrail = ZTE Libra

Staraddict I have no idea. Doesn't look like a ZTE device.

Sim free - 209.90 euros - £183

PAYG - 199.90 euros - £175

Sim free a much better price compared to the price of the Skate at £220.

The Staraddict is the Skate but with a different casing

Staraddict looks so much better than Monte Carlo IMO. Let's see if we can swap the case (and physical keys) in the sooner future tongue.gif

Great. It looks better than the effort we have in the UK.

I could get a hold of one next thursday.

would a rom port to the monte carlo make it sim free?

Most probably - yes. That is if its unlocked.

I would say unless Zte have made another serious schoolboy error then it won't make any difference whatsoever.

hello everyone,

I just received my skate SFR (staraddict) with 2GB SD card supplied:

-> android gingerbread 2.3.4

-> version baseband: P743B01

-> kernel version: 2.6.35.7-perf + zte-kernel @ Zdroid-SMT

-> Build Number: GB_P743FV1.0.0B03

impression of the moment:

-> start much faster than the blade (splash screen and bootanimation base)

-> very reactive

-> much faster in use

-> much better sound quality than the blade

-> ease of use with its large 4.3 "screen

any chance you can dump the rom so a dev can take a peek

i can if someone tell me how can i backup all the rom

use

adb reboot bootloader (I think this works ? even though it shouldn't)

then use fastboot boot to boot a recovery image

fastboot boot whatever.img

then

back it up from clockworkmod

or you could use the (exploit less ) new version of romdump

or QPST or PSAS
