  • Launch ClockworkMod recovery - navigate to the 'bootloader' menu then select 'recovery'
  • Push the new hboot to your device (you've checked the MD5 right?) and flash - 'adb push stock-hc-flyer-hboot_1.11.0006.nb0 / && adb shell dd if=/stock-hc-flyer-hboot_1.11.0006.nb0 of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p18'

I don´t understand this points. PLS help. At first, by example: My CWM don´t have a Bootloader-Menu...

Just a heads up that I tried to roll back to GB, and got the same:

Paul-OBriens-iMac:GB paul$ fastboot flash zip rom.zip

sending 'zip' (470947 KB)... OKAY

writing 'zip'... INFOzip header checking...

INFOzip info parsing...

FAILED (remote: 99 unknown fail)

So it looks as though, at the moment, rolling back isn't possible!

P

Paul,

Maybe you need to modify your complete guide about the downgrade. It still says 'possible to downgrade to GB with original RUU'

Hi there,

I have used to flash HC to my Flyer which has used 2.23.405.3.

I´ve accurately followed the guide to install HC 3.2 on my Flyer.

Step by step.

But now, after flashing the stock rom in the recovery I stucked on the green htc logo.

Nickiberli and I have tried to solve it, but without success.

Can I get some help please?

Kind regards

Has anyone tried this with a HTC Evo View (Sprint 4G) - The "view" is the same as the "flyer" - cept for the mobile broadband (Sprint 4G instead of GSM 3G). I suspect the radio isn't going to be compatible between them?

I'm newer with ADB but have been rooting and XDA'ing for almost a decade now as an end user - so I'll help in anyway I can.

Thoughts?

Hi, I managed to rollback mine. I believe Paul managed to rollback his under certain circumstances. I have posted the brief steps on the rollback on XDA. You may refer to the below link.

I wonder why my hboot version is

HBOOT-6.10.1002? I flased the HC and it stuck on the green HTC logo. I flashed back to 2.3.3, it is normal again. Why the hboot version is not 1.07 or 1.11.0006? Thank you in advance.

Should I just execute the step 12.

<LI>Push the new hboot to your device (you've checked the MD5 right?) and flash - 'adb push stock-hc-flyer-hboot_1.11.0006.nb0 / && adb shell dd if=/stock-hc-flyer-hboot_1.11.0006.nb0 of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p18'

But I don't know how to backup my current strange hboot version.

Hey Paul,

thanks for this great guide. As i read many times it should work on the 16GB Wifi only Flyer too so i will try it when i get my Flyer tomorrow.

But i have a question about step 12

Push the new hboot to your device (you've checked the MD5 right?) and flash - 'adb push stock-hc-flyer-hboot_1.11.0006.nb0 / && adb shell dd if=/stock-hc-flyer-hboot_1.11.0006.nb0 of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p18'

You are directly writing to a partition block on the device. Is it somehow possible to mount this partition to see if it's the right one?

Or how can i be sure that my german Flyer 16GB Wifi has the same partitions?

Thank you

Regards

Daniel

EDIT: adb reboot bootloader worked and stopped the misery...

I have problem. I bricked my Flyer. NEED HELP!

I also posted this topic on xda. http://forum.xda-dev...d.php?t=1275447

thanks for Lucas0511 who advice me to ask here

---------

Device: HTC Flyer 32GB 3G

Firstly my Flyer is running on 3.2 (version is 3.07.xxx...)

It's unstable, a lot of Force Close (especially HTC Sense)

so I decide to flash rom into 3.10.405.1 with Paul's instruction (this topic instruction)

I found that, with my stupididty I mistype filename in step 9.

9.Flash your device's radio with the Honeycomb radio with the fastboot command 'fastboot flash radio stock-hc-flyer-radio.img'

and I realized after step 15

15. Flash your device's recovery with the patched-to-work-with-new-hboot revolutionary recovery - 'fastboot flash recovery revolutionary-cwm-4.0.1.4-flyer.newhboot.img'

because it's show "remote signature verify fail"

I guest this is the cause of it

now my Flyer:

- Become to S-On

- Cannot turn off my Flyer. It's turned on after 5 seconds, then enter to HBOOT.

- Cannot turn on to Android system either. Always enter to HBOOT

- Cannot go to recovery. system reboot then enter HBOOT again.

- I still can use fastboot.

- Cannot use adb. device not found

- I tried to update driver http://unrevoked.com..._driver_install but still not work. 'adb devices' is show nothing

- I try to directly run below files while flyer connected to pc. and it not work

>> RUU_Flyer_HTC_WWE_2.00.405.3_R_Radio_20.3501.30.0 89BU_3809.05.04.10_M_release_194964_signed.exe

Hi Paul, need your advice here.

I followed someone's directions which are same to yours but except the last step. I was guided to use the rom.zip to update the system which caused the system to cycle at the second HTC screen (two lines).

I think it may because of what you've mentioned in your post "The second reason is that flashing RUU or rom.zip updates your misc partition version tag, which can seriously limit your options should something go wrong and / or you need to roll back to Gingerbread".

I tried different methods but failed to roll back. Anything else I can do?

D:\ADB>fastboot getvar all

(bootloader) version: 0.5

I already flashed HC with your guide and it worked great.

Now that i have CWM installed and could flash custom ROMs - Can i now just flash a CUSTOM Gingerbread ROM from xda? Or do only HC ROMs work because of the new HBOOT? I don't mean the original GC, i mean a CWM flashable custom GB ROM.

Guest Lucas0511

Yes, HC > Stock RUU > Custom GB is the safe process

Sorry but are you sure that you read what i asked? I don't want to get back to stock. I just asked about a custom gb rom. Same procedure necessary?

Hi,

I have attempted to install honeycomb on my flyer, but i seem to have managed not to gottan S-OFF. I've tried to do it after but it wont load gingerbread, its just stuck on HTC loading screen. I didnt manage to do the backup/recovery, as i thought i could just use the RUU installer if something went wrong, but i think CWM prevents it in working.

Please help me.

Guest RealSol

Could someone help me with this. I have downloaded all the files except for the one on step 3. When I try to download it I keep getting the error "

Download Error

Free users may only download 1 file at a time"

EDIT: Nevermind. FileSonic was nice enough to give me the file.

Generally the instructions were top notch. I might adjust them a bit like this:

  • You are now in a state where you must unlock the bootloader using the HTC tools - visit http://www.htcdev.com/bootloader/ and follow the instructions (Flyer compatability isn't listed, but it'll work)
  • Run adb reboot bootloader after unlocking via the previous setp. If you don't you will find yourself in a continual boot loop
  • Flash your device's recovery with the patched-to-work-with-new-hboot revolutionary recovery - 'fastboot flash recovery revolutionary-cwm-4.0.1.4-flyer.newhboot.img'
  • Launch ClockworkMod recovery - navigate to the 'bootloader' menu then select 'recovery'
  • Flash the Honeycomb system zip by copying / pushing to sdcard (adb shell mount /sdcard && adb push stock-hc-flyer-system.zip /sdcard/). Be patient, it takes a while to get the file unto your sdcard.
  • Then using the on screen menus, erase data / cache using the on screen menus
  • Reboot the device and you should be done!

Hello

One question to HC users in Flyer. As you know there's only two way direction possible with g-sensor, the cam is upside and the other side. In HC, is this still so or you can turn any direction? To my knowledge, there are only soft buttons in HC so theoretically we can turn tablet whichever direction we want.

Any comment?
