have you got USB debugging enabled on Applications/Development??? stock roms generally have it disabled

have you tried SuperOneClickv2.3.3 HERE not sure if it will work on our racer but it has the ability to Unroot and Re-root devices which will help

try the superoneclick 1st as you wont be able to use a root explorer to transplant su if you cant get permissions to explorer root folders..................

phone needs to on desktop, connect to pc, dont mount sdcard, unroot 1st, will take a while so be patient........then reboot phone and then root it

EDIT: If once you get root again with superoneclick and still get permissions denied then you can get a logcat of events that are happening.......

i put su in an apk file and putting a new su in didnt work but i stopped getting force close from su

@ pledgroid getting all versions of recovery manager didnt work either

is xp upto date with updates and you need at least .net framework 2 for it to run, check your device manager aswell to see if the connected phone has google ADB drivers installed (near the top of device manager list)

ok, reboot phone and let it load to desktop, connect to comp and bring up CMD on start menu and issue this command on CMD:

adb devices

should list your device next do:

adb logcat

and try and do something that needs root privilages, need to see the errors on it, paste log on here...thx

hmmm, no android sdk http://dl.google.com/android/android-sdk_r16-windows.zip download, extract to c:/ rename the extracted folder to android....let me know when done........
