<HOT> Need hacker help - may have an idea for unlocking!

3 posts in this topic

I just read this post:

http://android.modac...ost__p__1781507

the guy says he de-odexed the Phone.apk, but in the BlueMonte ROM, the Phone.apk is accompanied by a Phone.odex, and so doesn't appear to be de-odexed...

Would someone edit that XML (I don't know how) so that the strings here:

http://developer.oes...one/R.bool.html

Are both set to:

"<bool name="ignore_sim_network_locked_events">true</bool>"

and

"<bool name="sim_network_unlock_allow_dismiss">true</bool>"

...re-compile and upload the "Phone.apk" and "Phone.odex" that results from this? Or if someone wants to try it?. Thanks!

This just controls how phone.apk deals with the unlock.. Not actually unlock anything..

In short if you set it to false you just don't get the box that asks you to unlock it, the phone is still locked and will still not work, the only difference is now you can't enter the unlock code...

Some builds turn this on and disable the dismiss button to make the device useless unless it's on the original network...

What a bummer! :(
