proximity sensor or light sensor?

hi guys.... ive searched everywhere but found nothing.

my problem is before whenever i put the phone by my ear to make a call the screen turn off (its like preventing it not to pressed anything) and on when i take it away. but when i flashed my phone with rapids rom, it doesnt work anymore.

any suggestions on what i should do?

it is the proximity sensor job .. :-) (the light sensor adjusts the backlight according to the surrounding light)

and I have those 2 small cabs downloaded somewhere from this forum ... I just don't know where .. so here they are :-)
