Have patched java's RIL.java in frameworks/base/telephony/java/com/android/internal/telephony with those specifed on the cm-nightlies.appspot.com, added the key 'ro.telephony.ril.v3=1' into build.prop. Rebooted, no joy, rild crashes like hell, am hesitant to push out that to github as my belief is cm7's rild stuff is very much hated by ICS.

Suggestions? :)

Edit:

IF you wish, unzip the attached and put that into the directory above, amend build.prop with said key, and do a clean build ... let us know how it goes, if that works for you :) then we can take it from there :)

Weird that rild crashes... any insights?

Edit:

The libc that is shown in the line after ActivityManager, is the point of the crash, by the way, this was when I was in APN settings. The part of the stack trace up to the point of crash rests solely with libril-qc-1.so, for some reason or another which calls something in libdss and bombs!

Anyone try the patched RIL.java, last I checked there was 19 downloads of the said file - did it help? or did Telephony's fail? :)

I compiled it into alpha3, you can try that if you want. not sure what to look for, but there was no reception and I didn't notice any crashes.

Edit: I don't know what to say about that log but SYSTEM_TOMBSTONE sounds like something really evil is going on.

hmmm doesnt look so good. worse than I have without the patched ril.java file!

Do you manage to get a ril socket open though with the patches?? they seem to just patch a load of declarations not much actual code changed.

Absolutely, something is amiss there and agree totally, I have the rild socket there alright, every now and then it bombs and restarts itself, and occasionally fails to load on boot up as well.. either something in the init.rc, ueventd.rc or something, am not 100% sure where exactly is the cause/reason of it is... still digging up .. :)

thats strange. I wonder why I wasnt getting a rild socket at all then. I compared the init.rc to a GB one and to the Hero ICS one and the rild stuff seems ok.

Comparing to MHMP there was one difference in the groups, MHMP:

rc files are basically scripts to set up the android environment and its associated resources, such as bluetooth, telephony, wireless etc...

Might be worth a shot in adding qcom_oncrpc to the init.rc :)

ok i'll give it a go. i'll try adding the other init.qcom.rc file too. does alpha3 have the patched ril.java file it in?

Hi, I'm new and i have a Blade with this OS. I have some questions and bugs that you could fix, I hope. The Screen, when I lock the power button didn't do anything and the screen power on 1 minute later more or less. Also the radio didn't work. I hope you fix it and I am your betatester for whatever you want.
