- Update to I9250XWKK9 same ITL41F , build date 29.November.2011

25.Dec

- Merry Christmas. I9250XWKL2 ICL53F

Hi,

Here is i9250XWKK8 firmware with XXKK1 radio.

Build date: 24.Nov.2011 11:41:32 KST (From build.prop)

PDA Build: ITL41F

It's NOT the ITL41F that you guys are using. You guys using is XX , while this one is XW .

I, myself was using this one since 25.Nov till few days ago and confirm that it fixed volume problem, and for me, this XW is lots more stable and battery is better than XX version. (Well, don't ask me why I said "till few days ago. I'm still with XW, but on newer December version) Ah, you can use with XXKK6 radio as well. No problem at all.

CAUTION: (PLEASE, I BEG YOU SPEND FEW MINUTES TO READ IT AT LEAST TWICE)

- READ THIS. READ THIS. READ THIS.

- BACKUP your internal storage. BACKUP your internal storage.

- Package contains bootloader, please don't flash it if you don't know what it for.

- Flash to this will completely delete all your internal storage. So backup with CWM, backup with Titanium, and copy to your PC before flash.

- Make sure battery is at least 50%

- Make sure do NOT unplug your phone while it flashing.

(Bla bla bla........ ya ya, I know I know you guys is not amatuer).

Oh, it's OK to use superboot r3, but DO NOT use Paul's UI patches, even 30.Nov version. It's not compatible with this XW firmware and will make all buttons disapperar.

am i right in thinking, to use this i must have access to the online kitchen? to remove the ui patches.

...personally I would wait for Paul to comment .... or perhaps makes his changes around this new build.

Right now I am running Paul's MDC with Franco's Kernel and XXIK6 radio - all stable and fast ... I couldn't be happier.

Only had one crash .... but the main suspect for that is JuiceDefender ....

If you can, wait a few days to see how this new build rolls out

@secany,

I was curious if you knew more about these builds. My phone came with a samsung/yakjuxw/maguro:4.0.1/I9250XWKK5_ITL41D/163402:user/release-keys build, and I really couldn't find any concrete info on what these builds are.

I tweeted to Jean-Baptiste Queru and he said he was unsure and would ask around. He later said that yakjuxw builds were just a region specific build. But other then that, he didn't know much else, like if it contained the volume bug or if I would get OTA updates still.

I figured you would be a good person to ask since you posted the i9250XWKK8 - ITL41F firmware, and must have some samsung connections. I'm just curious what these builds are, and if I should keep them or go with the official google builds.

This seems to include XXKK1 radio not XXIK1?

MODEM_I9250XXKK1_REV_00_CL1075373.tar.md5

Says KK1 when flashed too...

P

Ah my typo :o sorry :(

You're correct. It's XXKK1.

Your friend are correct. It's just region build. But region build is for region AND carrier request, and some minor bugs and process are different. So even with same build date, you might find one better than another.

Thanks!

Could you tell us what region they were released for? I'm just curious the origin my phone was intended for. Thanks again!

PM me your phone's IMEI number and I'll let you know.

It says you can't get any more PM's.

I'm kinda scared to send the IMEI number anyway. I bought my phone from expansys-usa. and a handfull of us all got phones with yakjuxw builds. Others who ordered from different places have gotten them too. I've already flashed mine to the latest google factory image, and have no issues. I was just curious about the differences, why they exist (google vs samsung ICS builds), and if there is anything special about my phone hardware wise. I asked a google engineer (Jean-Baptiste Queru), who works on the AOSP code, but he had never heard of these builds and had to ask around. But he only found out they were region specific builds and wasn't sure about anything else.

Again, thanks for answering my questions!

Secany first of all thank you for the roms.

I have two questions:

1.Its XWKK9 or XXKK9 (- Update to I9250XWKK9 same ITL41F VS -i9250XXKK9)?

2.I already flashed through odin the XWKK8 with the new bootloader. If lets say want to go back to first stock rom ,which can be flashed through fastboot following the instructions from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1373995, you think its going to work?

Thanks a lot

Hi folks,

Any chance the ODIN file could be reuploaded as the FileSonic server it is hosted on seems to be down - got the other files first and they seem to be fine.

Many thanks,

Charles.

EDIT:

Ignore me - server seems to be back up this moring :-)

Can somebody give step-by-step instructions? I haven't used Odin before & I don't want to screw it up.

I'd like to know too. Coming from HTC devices Odin is new to me also. Doubt I'd use it a lot but might be worth giving this build a go at some point
