TomG has released the first Cyanogenmod 9 builds. Currently we're at alpha 6. I made this thread for TomG's CM9! But at the "quick links from the thread" section you can find more CM9 based ROMs!

What's working:

- Wired headset is now recognised

- Bluetooth and Wi-fi (WI-FI can stay on while phone is sleeping)

- Music player

- GPU acceleration (fast with animations on too)

- SD card

- Google Sync

- Sound

- G-mail

- Maps (May not work)

- Multi touch

- Market

- Auto rotation (with nice animation)

- Superuser

- Overclockable

- Telephone fully works

- GAPPS

- Gallery (After taking a screenshot)

- Video playback ( around 2 fps..not really enjoyable )

- Usb storage mode

- DSP manager

- Most of the games are working (Tried Angry birds and N.O.V.A and Gangstar)

What's not working:

- FM radio (maybe it could work with a right application)

- Some Google apps force closes

I really recommend this ROM if you want to try ICS but Gingerbread is still much smoother! (Not for long ;) )

Quick links from the thread:

- Burstlam's build (RC 5) : http://www.mediafire...2mxpevv36nycu15

- Softbuttons : http://115.com/file/...n-patch-RC5.zip

Note: If Superuser is not working, then download it via ROM Manager!

What do I need to make it work?

- Working Clockwork recovery (If your phone is rooted, then you can use ROM manager for that)

- 160 MB system partition (210 MB with GAPPS and other stuff)

- GEN 2 (Wbaw gen2 tpt v10 would be the best)

- Patience at first boot. Around 5-7 minutes max!

Guides:

-Root: http://forum.xda-dev...d.php?t=1319257

- Partition and GEN2: http://forum.xda-dev...d.php?t=1258855

Tricks "if it's not working":

- WI-FI : Sometimes you must turn off and back on the WI-FI to make it work. In you router settings you must set "channel" and "channel width" to "auto". Worked for me.

- At first market wouldn't download anything for me..i waited like 10 min, then it worked o_O

Some days ago TomG released the first Cyanogenmod 9 builds. Currently we're at alpha 5.

He's actually been releasing them quite often on IRC since around when the ICS source came out, so it's not really a new thing.

Hey, alpha5 is really usable, and cool.

I have got only big problem.

PowerAMP does not work. I tried 1.4, and 2.0Beta. The program installed but this FC-ing everytime.

Can somebody get work PowerAMP?

Edit: How can I reach IRC channel?

Just stuck it on earlier during lunch and was surprised how fast it was considering the stage it is at.

I couldn't add my google account for the market though for some reason. Whenever I went to the accounts and sync section of settings and pressed the "add account" button, nothing happened.

Not sure if anyone else is getting that issue.

DSP Manager also force closed a lot.

how to move to "160MB partiton"?

I'd also like to know how to create a 160mb partition properly. I'm aware I can partition the SD Card in Clockwork but i'd like to know the correct settings to get the correct partition size if anyone could maybe help ?

That's the wrong kind of partition. You need to partition the internal memory. Not the sd card.

If your phone was originally gen 1 and you used a recent Gen 2 TPT then you'll already have a 160mb system partition.

If you used an old Gen 2 TPT then you can just run the newer TPT to get 160mb: http://forum.xda-dev...d.php?t=1258855

If your phone is actually gen 2 (it came that way or had an official upgrade) then you'll need this: http://android.modaco.com/topic/347601-gen-23-tpts/

TPTing your phone will obviously wipe it. Make sure you have a rom on your sd card to install!

Have you tried updating it? Poweramp 2 left beta long ago.

My phone is indeed Gen2 ..

I tried 1.4 which is not beta, and tried 2.0 which is beta.

But i back-TPT-d my Blade, so I can't try it. I thought 2.0 still Beta, but no. :)

Maybe somebody who still use ICS make a try? :)

I'm about to install ICS to play, and I have poweramp. Quick question though, the new gapps is huge! does this lot really fit inside 160mb or do i need to delete some stuff?

Does this one work with CM9? http://code.google.com/p/ics4blade/downloads/detail?name=market_google_accounts_fix.zip&can=2&q=

If no-one knows, I'm about to find out.

Gonna give both of these ICS builds a play today. Not had chance to before now.

I have got an idea.

If you create a 'data' folder in the GAPPS zip,and place here some apk's from 'system' folder, it will install those apk's to the data partition, and you have got remained free space.

And delete some unnecessary apk's maybe.

EDIT: yes, market_google_accounts_fix.zip is working with alpha5, a tried it yesterday. ;)

EDIT2: And I tried it with 220mb system, but I think 160Mb is enough too.

hhmm .. the tpt won't fire .. powered off and held menu + volume + and nothing happens. image folder is present on the root of the sd card as well

You have got only one .img file and maybe a md5 file, in the 'image' folder?

that's right - unzipped the zip file into the root of the sd-card as instructed

Pigfish will tell you, you're gen 2 if you previously used the gen 1 to gen 2 updater. It's more for telling you rom compatibility that how you got to gen 2. But you need to knwo how you got there to know which tpt's to use in the future.

I have to say, ICS is impressive!

Note, installing the gapps market fix thing doesn't work if done at the same time as the rom. For me anyway, I had to boot the rom up and then install gapps.
