This is a CyanogenMod 9 port for the ZTE Blade.

YOU NEED A 185 MB SYSTEM PARTITION MINIMUM FOR THIS ROM!

Rom Details:

  • Android 4.0.4 - Ice Cream Sandwich!
  • Synced with latest CyanogenMod 9 repos
  • 2.6.35 kernel - based on ZTE stock Skate kernel
  • Full HW acceleration makes it faster than Gingerbread

My sources:

  • Device - github.com/ColdFusionX
  • Kernel - github.com/CyanogenMod/zte-kernel-msm7x27

Thanks go to:

  • Tom Giordano - being my mentor in developing for ZTE devices and basically being a general legend
  • CM Team for making an awesome ROM base
  • Skywave, Tom B and the rest of the ICS4Blade team - I, uh, "borrowed" a lot of their fixes
  • sej7278 for continuing the builds while I'm away
  • drewis and Evervolv team - they were the ones that led me to enable OpenGL acceleration
  • The community - for testing and enthusing - I love doing what I do because of you guys

SEE SECOND POST FOR MORE INFO! FLASH ORDER:

  • First: you should get the GAPPs and ROM and put them on your SD card
  • Now FORMAT SYSTEM
  • Then flash the ROM and any patches (if applicable)
  • After this wipe data
  • Then reboot out of recovery and let it boot into the ROM
  • After you let it sit on the launcher for ~ 5 minutes then reboot into recovery again
  • Now flash the GAPPs zip
  • And reboot out of recovery
  • The ROM should boot
  • Let it sit on launcher for another 5 minutes to stabilise.
  • If you still have problems post on the thread.

The thing ia I don't have the crescent so I have no way of testing a build I make for it. I've said that I will hwlp the guys there port it to the crescent but they will have to test it.

Fully working on Skate ?

Judging by this thread, nope.

Working:

WiFi

Full Hardware Acceleration with OpenGL

Smooth UI

Bluetooth

Mobile data 2G and 3G

Network

Audio

Sensors

Live Wallpapers

Everything Else apart from stuff below

Partially Working:

USB tethering - Use an external app - Koush's "Tether" should work

WiFi tethering - use other apps

YouTube - laggy - use JetVD and MX Video Player for smooth playback

Hardware video decoding - choppy + laggy but working

Very occasional reboots

Not working:

Camera

USB Mass Storage

So, excuse my ignorance, but... why?

I mean, those are the same issues that the current cm9 build (and aosp build) have, so what good would it do to have a build ported from another (almost identical) device with the same issues?

It might help me. :D ICS builds using Burstlams kernel (ie the newer AOSP's and obviously his CM9's) boot loop for me the moment i download anything in the market. The older CM9 alpha 5's are fine but slow. The new CM9 alpha 6 is fine but mp3's don't work.

So I need a new ICS at least. :D Unless this also uses burstlams kernel in which case I'm awaiting TomG's alpha 7 I guess!
