Guest Karucifer
Sony have finally begun the release of Ice Cream Sandwich to their 2011 range of Android handsets.

The updates are going out in waves by model and region, beginning with the Xperia arc S, Xperia neo V and Xperia ray to devices in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. Staggered over the next 6 weeks users in other countries with these devices will begin to receive their updates, with specific availability dates being publish on the Sony Mobile blog as they are confirmed.

Owners of older devices, such as the Xperia arc, Xperia PLAY, Xperia neo, Xperia mini, Xperia mini pro, Xperia pro, Xperia active and Live with Walkman will see their updates in May/June, again dependent on country and network operator.

While it's great to see the updates are finally happening, Sony are quite a way behind the competition in getting this done and there's no mention on timescales for their 2012 range of handsets.

Source: Sony Mobile blog

This item was promoted to the News page - click here to view. Guest MrPuddington
Indeed, and with CM9 getting along nicely, even cheap phones like the ZTE Blade may get their "ICS update" faster than some of the expensive Sony phones. I really have the feeling that Sony is losing it.
