I have noticed some video feeds are louder than the "normal" volume we are used too.

I don't think it's anything to do with these feeds tapping into anything hardware related. Some feeds are just louder than others. I often notice on my iPad that iPlayer is REALLY loud compared with YouTube. It's still far too quiet for me on the G300 though, even if it is audible if you're sat in a room not making too much noise whilst you're watching it.

its that bad that morning alarms are switched off as it doesn't wake me up fully to pick out the snooze button so I quickly fall back into deep sleep. Not good so I use a backup alarm clock.

  • Hi Patrick.

We had just wanted to be in touch in person, following your comments here and elsewhere, to let you know a software update will be available shortly to enable you to turn up the volume settings on your Ascend G 300.

We cannot be any more specific with timings at present, but we expect to be in a position to give more detail in the next week or so. Please bear with us. Our technical team has responded, and is doing its best to offer an update. We really appreciate your feedback, and bringing it to our attention.

If you would like to speak with any of the team about the matter, in person, then please drop us a message with your number and we can arrange a more convenient time to chat through. Thanks again.

    James.

This is what I sent them on thursday They said that they would Reply, Still waiting

Hi Just purchased a HUAWEI Asend G 300 I Find this is a excellent phone and very good value. But there is a problem that is software related, The external output of the speaker is to low when listening to video&music,You need to get this fixed with a upgrade as this could be detrimental to your sales of this phone, IE There is a lot of talk on the forums about this low sound problem. I know that there is a temporary workaround, You need to do your bit.

they won't last long if they take that line. after all, its their build of Android, on their phone.

It's their terms in the settings on the mobile phone.I have also emailed vodafone and huawei to stop selling faulty g300's and pull them from sale until a fix is found.

But some how I don't think they will...And to think I returned my Sony arc s for a fault not this bad.

Not at all. All support for the software is done through Vodafone directly, not Huawei. It's standard practice.

(I don't know if this is already known, but just in case)

I use an app called Spanish Radio to listen to Spanish radio stations through the Internet, and this app is apparently not affected by the loudspeaker issue as I can hear the radio quite OK. Hove you guys found other apps that are not affected by this issue (a part from the FM radio and the app I've just mentioned)?

Thanks!

mealy1, may I suggest DX alarm clock. It has louder tones and a lot more functions.

Its free as well. That's what I am using and it wakes me up, as the built in clock doesn't.

Install the Spirit FM app http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1059296 (click the top April 23 mediafire link)

then load the app go to settings / Audio / Volume Scale / then put in a value of 0.01. Doing this will get rid of most of the white noise from the Spirit FM app. Then all other apps including alarms, Music and Videos will play loud.

some tones are low but some are louder. its also set as a ascending volume as default I think so a quick go won't sound good. you can change it to go full volume though they instead of ascending.

The spirit fm is the one I use, the video shows the normal fm app running with headphones in, the spirit fm app stays running once setup to keep working without the headphones in at all.

It's good but sometimes force closers when I get a phone call.
