Bonkers!

After speaking to the normal customer services number they have been good enough to reimburse me £7.85 of my lost £10. However, they didn't say how I would know when my data kicks in.

I just downloaded a 3mb app over 3g to test if data is enabled and it has taken over £1.50 of my credit. How much do they charge for data!!!!?

I certainly hope that on Monday the executive number can provide an I unlock code and I can put a Giffgaff sim in. Failing that it will be going straight onto Tmobile

Orange are very greedy and unfair with their tariffs and charging. Why anyone would remain on Orange, except possibly that they could have a better signal in certain locations, is baffling to me.

Or Virgin works too.

i just called the executive number. they are indeed very helpful and very friendly.

i explained my problem politely and they have reimbursed me a further £10 which they used to provide my missing data bundle.

i asked if i could get an unlock code but was informed i needed to wait 6 months and pay £20.42.

the lady i think was kirsty. she was so nice i didnt want to push the matter further.

Hello, thanks for your advice the 8th of April I sent that email with cc to execute* address and 2 days ago talked to one of them on the 0800*.. You were right, they did ask how I got their number :)

However nobody has called back and no code yet on the inbox.

How long did you have to wait after talking to them?

Thanks/

I presume they did agree to send it to you? If so it'll be just a few days.

:@ this is what they have been saying (agree) 3 months ago!!! (at least CS).

Since original request has been there for that long I was expecting that executive team could get it done within 24 h....

48h and counting....

Tomorrow might have another polite call/conversation again then...

Thanks

It took just 6 days for me from sending a letter to Bristol and a copy as an e-mail to the Executive Office which includes a weekend(I don't know if they work 7 days a week). After a 3 month wait that was pretty speedy, I would hold fire for a couple more days at least.

Just unlocked my San Diego! The code came today :D

I logcat'd the San Diego to command prompt as I entered the unlock code, and shot the whole process on video (uploading soon). Here is the logcat:

That's what you're supposed to do, it's possible that they sent you a code that's now expired I suppose.

I've PMed a copy of the letter that I sent to Orange(I'm in the UK) which I also e-mailed to the [email protected], feel free to adapt it to your needs. It netted me my unlock code plus an additional £25 credit(I'd already received £20) so did have an effect.

Would you be so kind as to PM me the email/letter you sent?

I emailed orange executive two week ago about getting my unlock code with no reply.

I did also phone them and spoke to some guy who said "i can't help you, you need to contact customer services" also he said "who gave you this number" i replied a friend on a forum.

so that was that lol

maybe they are getting fed up of people contacting them now !

After thinking about this for a while, and trying all possible options to contact Orange without any sign of response, I have concluded that there are only three options left:

  • hope that CISAS will sort it out, but this will take around 4 months
  • go to court
  • complain to trading standards

I have to admit that I know how to go to court, and compared to calling Orange customer service that actually sounds like a pretty attractive option. But does anybody know about the other two options? Does CISAS actually resolve issues? Or is it as toothless as Ofcom?

I've looked back a couple of pages but couldn't see at what point you're at, how long have you had the phone and how long since you requested the unlock code?(presuming that's what we're talking about).

No experience with CISAS but you can only try. I don't think the courts would be interested if you don't at least try CISAS first as that's what they're supposed to be for.
