The Amazon App Store can be downloaded by following the instructions at www.amazon.com/getappstore and then logging in with an existing Amazon account or creating a new one. Features such as "Free App of the Day" and "Recommendations" are available in the aforementioned European countries from today. Could this be a precursor to the launch of the Amazon Kindle Fire (or its successor) in the EU, or might it be the preparing the launch of the rumoured Amazon smartphone?
