How do I tell if the memory is fried?

We got my 10 year old one of these for christmas and everything was going swimmingly till he forced the power socket and broke the sloder joint. He didn't give me it till a couple of days after when the battery had run down. I have repaired and resoldered the connection, charged the battery for 12 hours and can get the hannspad to apx mode. I can rarely get the screen to light up in recovery mode too.

I have been searching for hours in the forums, trying all the nvflash variations I can find and I am finally at the conclusion that the memory must be fried.

This is the best I can get back from NVflash

I really don't know what to try next. I don't want to waste more time if the memory is fried. Any advice would be really appreciated.
