[dev][cm9]Using qcom (qs8k) hwcomposer and gralloc

3 posts in this topic

Hi.

I see that in cm9 thepasto is using prebuilt gralloc and hwcomposer. Is there any reason why not to use the one under hardware/qcom/? Well I tried to use it and it kind of works. However, the only issue that I have is that the fonts, widgets and drawer for the launcher all appear black and is not readable. However the rest of the apps like settings, contacts, phone are all readable. Anyone knows what the problem may be? Do you think something maybe wrong with the pixel format for the trebuchet launcher? I have not tried with another launcher. What I am getting at is that once we get the hwcomposer and gralloc working from a compiled library from cm9 source it is a lot easier for later support of the code and probably any optimizations related to the GPU. Any ideas suggestions are really appreciated. Thanks.

You've answered by yourself why he used precompiled libs - because there are were problems with black "textures" :-)

Ok, I figure that if I use the copybit pulled from the device and the rest (hwcomposer, gralloc and surfaceflinger) compiled from source I get the display fine. So, I guess we need to somehow update copybit library. I will set aside this task for now and keep working on high priority issues like reducing the lag and the memory foot print.
