I can't get gtalk to work with voice calling despite even trying on ics and even jb and not voice button. for gingerbread I could understand that, but on ics I can't understand why. even if I install the full gapps Imit doesn't appear!

what's going on here? any solution for getting voice calls to work on Google Talk?

thanks

I personally have never known the voice input to work in Jelly Bean and I'm not sure about ICS. I have never used voice chat on gtalk because it has never worked reliably (even in gingerbread).

So in short: as far as I know voice chat won't work.

on my Sony Tablet S it works almost flawless, and certainly not worse than on my laptop. This would be great for me.

even on my gingerbreaded Samsung galaxy player 4.2 it doesn't work, and that player has front cam! and I have people that use Google but not Skype...

Skype for now is too heavy on battery because it prevents sleep mode, but that will change, Skype will be a push service as it does the finals steps from a p2p service to a server <> client app.
