Simplified list of issues users may face:

http://www.modaco.co...20#entry2063603

Still up to date in my experience. No need to read the whole thread, just the first couple of pages.

:)

Good work but is it not missing a few common ones reported by some people such as:

  • Barcode scanner apps may not work unless hw overlays is ENABLED (which can cause notification bar freeze). Several people (including myself) have experienced that the display is garbled when attempting to scan a barcode. At least one person reported that it scans anyway but that doesn't work for me. I have to enable hw overlays to get it to work and hope that the notification bar doesn't freeze in the meantime.
  • (Stock?) browser crashes and/or Javascript problems? I don't get these but others have reported them. Workaround - try other browsers?
  • Microphone level very low when recording?
  • Ringtone volume very low?
  • Others...?

For my experience, i found this Issues and applied the workaround:

- 3th party apps that use the camera don't display the preview image, but the camera works.

For example, in QR scanners, the camera read it fine... This happend with hw overlays disable (notice that is that option that appears in the Settings, what means that is with the option ticked for the hw overlays be disable, and NOT enable).

When the hw overlays is enable, is working fine after i flash with the Standard CWM on the first topic (http://www.modaco.co...t-updated-1711/). But will cause the freeze of the notification bar.

Is really needed the preview for a QR codes scanner app? Just put the camera in front of the image. :)

- I use Dolphin Browser (https://play.google....ek.TunnyBrowser) and is working fine, without crashes (and i use it daily, almost every hour). Maybe just happends in the stock browser ( and you realy wanna use the stock android Browser, with fantastic alternatives in Play Store? :D)

- To fix the scrolling problems and the notification bar freeze, enable the hw overlays. To enable it permantly after reboot:

edit the file "/system/build.prop", in "debug.composition.type=mdp" and change to "debug.composition.type=gpu"

Use the "build.prop Editor" app - https://play.google....ild.prop.editor

- The problem with the playback of stock camcorder videos (like described by intensedarkness) can be fixed using the "MX player" - https://play.google.....videoplayer.ad - and enabling the "h/w+ decoder" in the settings.

- For the problem with the Low Volume in calls, speaker and headset, use the version 1.8.0 of Volume+ - http://www.mediafire...4mextica7vs93ta . Recent versions doesn't work with the in call sound.

- For the problem with the Keyboard, use a 3th party app. For instance, the SwiftKey 3 - https://play.google....key.phone.trial .

Is working fine in all the apps that i have tested (GoSMS, WhatsApp,stock apps, etc)

- The Camera panoramic mode may present some artifacts in the preview, but takes panoramic photos just fine.

- For Instagram, disable the Advance Camera option.

- To see the Battery Stats by app, use the "Easy Battery Saver" - https://play.google....e=search_result - or Go Power Master ( i use this and is working great) - https://play.google....t.gopowermaster

And is almost all the "problems" that i found.

The rest is working fine, with a great performence and even a little of overclock (1133). No battery lost, no problems that affect the functionality (at least for me) of the phone.

Just enjoy the fantastic ROM! :D

Do you find that SwiftKey 3 loses predictive text after a reboot? I have to select update language each time I turn the phone on for it to remember which language is installed. I'm currently using CM9 R5 and just wondering if the issue is on Jelly Bean too?

Nope. I have reboot the phone many times and the predictive text didn't "get lost". :)

Notice that i have the paid version. I don't know if happends in the free version of the app. ;)

I've got the paid version (1/2 price christmas sale :D ). Maybe its just an ICS issue?

Sorry, can't confirm that.

I didn't tested the ICS. :)

But in this ROM is working great, and that I can confirm. :D

Changed the issues post at the start of the thread. It now links to the issues post maintained by intensedarkness and the bug tracker.

Just to notice that the Issues posted by intensedarkness are related to the R1. Some of them have been fixed in the R2, for what i see. :)

That can lead some users to think that some problems still are affecting the ROM, when they are already fixed or with a workaround (like the LED problem).

I post a example in the message.

Like the LED problem, but also the keyboard workaround and others. :)

One additional feature you may not have spotted... in camera options, turn on power shutter to enable you to take photos by pressing the power button.

"Notification LED constant only, no blinking"

Is this not the case?

In my case, the Notification LED blinks just fine...

But this is with me...

What rom did you come from? Did you make sure you were on baseband 2030?

R2 ISSUES:

http://www.modaco.co...20#entry2063603

Updated re: camera within other apps eg. google shopper.

I have not had any issues whatsoever with ringtone volume yet.

Have experienced some crashes with Dolphin Mini but yet to test stock browser.

Alarm works fine too.

MX Player H/W+ decoder does not play back stock video camera videos smoothly.

Bugs mentioned in the link above are the ones myself and most/all other users can replicate.

Hi thank you for the response....

I was on 2.3.6 GB and eventually upgraded via stock ICS ROM B952 from Huawei update site. On GB baseband was 109808 and since the ICS upgrade I see its now 2030. From stock ICS I then applied CWM, SuperUser and applied this ROM as per this guide http://huaweig300.com/huawei-g300-install-a-custom-jelly-bean-ics-rom-from-scratch/

Ever since I went to ICS stock B952, I couldnt make calls. Is it the baseband change from 109808 to 2030?

Exactly what happens when you try to make a call? Have you tried battery pull, wait 10 secs, then reboot?

Did you try making a call on stock B952?

Did you wipe/factory reset before installing rom?

Did you install CWM version suggested in the first post of this thread?

Still doesn't play back videos. H/W decoder plays them choppy, H/W+ does not.

Will ask another user to test, and will update post if it works.

It's the H/W+, not the "standard" H/W in old versions.

Also, check if you don't have the decoder S/W enable at the same time...

Doesn't need of update your post. Is something that anyone can see. :)

Yes, H/W+ is what I tried, on the newest version.

Did you do a full wipe/factory reset + system and cust wipe before installing?

Anyone can see, if they've installed cm10. My post is for those who want to know situation before installing.

:)
