ILLEGAL CONTENT I'd like to just reaffirm MoDaCo's position regarding piracy and illegal content in the light of some recent questions / postings. Posts will be censored by myself or my moderation team if the contain or link to: Illegal / pirated / cracked software or sites that host such software
Nintendo emulators / ROMs or sites hosting them (in light of Nintendo's legal stance)

      CUSTOM ROMS

You may discuss and post links to custom device ROMs on MoDaCo, provided the following rules are adhered to: ROMs must not be hosted directly in topic via the MoDaCo attachment system
ROMs must not contain any illegal 3rd party software (this includes trial versions included without permission)
ROMs must give full credit to the original author
This decision has been taken in light of the huge amount of interest in this area of device customisation within the community, and member feedback! Please note that custom ROM discussion should be kept in specific device sub-areas, (e.g. Kaiser.MoDaCo.com for Kaiser based devices). paul's kernel is only for stock roms, and this being a ICS 4.0.4 is clearly not that anymore, just like it doesn't (fully) work on CM9 too

and have you even noticed any improvements with paul's kernel at all, this is not some kiddies custom rom where he just added a bunch of mods he found on xda, they are actually developing it... Edited by pOcHa

Can't help myself I guess. I like fiddling about to see what does and doesn't work. Somebody's got to try these things.

Edit: Just restored the original boot from a nandroid backup and BT is now working fine. Edited by bentescort

Me too,
yesterday I tried X-UI beta1, released just few days
after this one:
http://www.modaco.com/topic/359846-40romx-ui-from-chinese-forum/
It was nice, slowish a bit.
It was multilingual and easy to get rid of chinese software - it had some kind of uninstaller: XDA-something.
In themes you could choose Sense UI and Emotion UI, but that requested china clock which I already deleted,
anyway it was slow (not like MIUI, much better) so I reverted to Baidu.

Stock b952 is a great ROM, but other roms we flash occasionally have more features.
If your phone is rooted, with unlocked bootloader, cwm, and you are on baseband 2030,
whats stopping you to try all this roms.
Just go on, try them all, but dont forget to make a backup in cwm :D

Again, see the screenshots on the first page.
Third row, first screenshot.
It is rooted.
Rom, gapps, keyboard and file manager, all included in download link on the first page.

Good evening torcato.
This rom is in two languages: chinese and english.
I removed chinese applications.
Adding other languages is possible, but that requires real knowledge, and a lot of time.
Sorry.

I did a little digging about that data mining thing. (no pun intended :- ) It was on the Lewa rom that came out for the Blade. The file in question was called umeng. It seems that Umeng.com has analytics service that it sells to developers, etc. It was said that data was being gathered to improve the Lewa rom. This could have been just for marketing purposes, but no one seem to be able to suss, what exactly was being collected and sent back, so that left a bit of doubt in many people's minds.

Well, if memory serves me well, I think it was in latin characters but you couldnt choose your local place, only chinese towns/districts. :-(
It was a nice widget, btw.
