please increase my knowledge: why use cm7 when you have a good 10.1? xD

ok then. drink my wisdom ;) cm7 72mb installer, totally feature rich, fully functional, fast clean; on heavy use 255Mb free ram.

cm10.1 is also pretty good, but 130-150 mb installer. fast, clean, but a lot more resource hungry 150-190Mb free ram.

actually im a maniac minimalist.-> (my desktop is a dell optiplex 760 @8gb ram, but i use a barebone debian netinstall xfce.(32bit, bigmem kernel) i got everything on it what i need for daily use and its blazing fast, and my memory footprint is 102 MB after boot. the rest of resource is for work, entertain, gaming etc.) so my question is: why walk when you can fly instead? :) (no flame anyway, cm10.1 is also really awesome)

gustibus non est disputandum.

peace. ;)

Use a official Ginger bread update app via dload folder on you're sd card then you will be back on the right baseband.

how are you guys installing this?

I tried from cwm recovery but the whole thing only took 10 secs (obviously not right) then on reboot it just loops.

I am on stock GB, rooted cwm etc.

many thanks.

10 secs sounds about right. It is very quick to install. Takes a while to boot first time though.

exactly what bladebuddy said. you have to go to GB. baseband 109808. (if there is an official way to downgrade -from your provider/vendor- do that. its usually a dload middle package and a GB dload folder) if not, u have to do the IMEI hack. and install a factory GB (b894 for example.) re-root, install cwm, make a full wipe then install the cm7 zip like other custom roms. make a backup from everything. at first your current rom, and your imei. and make a copy from your backup. (if you are paranoid that doesn't mean that they dont want to catch you) :) read all the howto's from the downgrading and good luck,

Got this installed after a few attempts (you have to do full wipes).

Very fast and feature rich. I love gingerbread and this takes it up a level.

Everything appears to be working, I'll run it for 24hrs and report back on battery.

Keyboard is way too small for me but has no lag at all.

Ran this for 15hrs, around 6hrs sleep, installed 40ish apps from store and 6 or so from computer, weather and news updating every hour, about an hours worth of gaming, a few hrs playing with settings :-!, 5 mins of calls, a couple of hrs browsing and downloaded 8 files 3-15mb each and wifi on all the time. 36% battery left. I don't think its too bad. Sorry I can't give more precise info I plugged it in before checking stats.

Notification lights work but auto brightness don't, I just noticed that the gps is not working also ( I thought it was working yesterday)

Ok restored from cwm backup and gps is working, must have been something I did that messed it up.

Still no auto lights though but I use tasker for that anyway.

I decided to try this out, as I had to wipe my phone. I admit I never spent much time testing stock gingerbread, but this Rom is crazily responsive compared to all ICS/JB roms I've tried. Not as visually smooth as the lovely CM10, but just fast as hell. Multitasking is instant.

I miss a few features, and it sucks that Chrome is not compatible, but I might try out out a while longer.

I also installed this rom and its amazing. Very fast, feature packed and excellent battery life (keyboard lag finally gone aswell). I'll stay with this one for while.

Anyone find a circle battery for this? :)

Try rom toolbox from play store it has a few. Just check which files are replaced thoug has some only show in increments of 20.

Thanks. I used some online kitchen to add circle battery to an ICS theme I found on the play store, seems to work well. I can upload it later when I'm on my computer if anyone's interested.

Cyda's Link2Int mod appears to work perfectly with this Rom, which is nice.

Can anyone recommend a calendar widget that looks like the one I'm used to from CM9/10? Cheers.
