Today Nokia officially announced the Lumia 720 and 520 handsets at MWC in Barcelona, Spain.

The two new Lumia devices run Windows Phone 8 and while the 520 covers the lower end of the market, the 720 should be a mid range device. The Lumia 520 is said to be the most affordable Windows Phone 8 device, with indicated price starting at around £120 (~$180) before taxes and subsidies.

The Nokia Lumia spec sheet is as follows:

  • Operating System: Windows Phone 8
  • Networks: WCDMA 900/2100, 850/1900/2100, GSM/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900

Interestingly the 4" touchscreen can be used with nails or gloves on, using similar tech to the one used in the Lumia 920. There have been some trade offs to keep the price low though: the camera lacks flash and there is no front facing camera.
