Keep gps, bt wi-fi and 3g off.

Turn the screen brightniss down.

Check if anything has a wakelock that keeps the device from entering deep sleep.

Maybe look at extended batteries, there's a thread going on right now about one, check back there if anything is said about how good it is.

Usr CM 7 or CM10.1 they seem to be the most battery friendly, besides stock, maybe (only used it for less than a week)

Also there are apps that can make the phone go to deep sleep faster, maybe you could try that.

Before I forget, wiping battery stats does NOTHING in regards to battety life

Hmm, I'm using CM9 on TMV with Int2Ext+. I live in a low signal area for G3, so I have it turned to G2 only, but leave the WiFi on. GPS and BT are kept off, and screen brightness on auto. The phone is just over a year old, and only recently unlocked and rooted. I've just bought a second battery, to keep me going when charging is not available.

My battery now lasts about 18 hours unless I'm using it a lot, it doesn't last 24 hours under any circumstance. Is this what should be expected, or am I doing something wrong please? I don't know what battery life I should expect, really.

I find Androlum ROM super on battery life and I'm using DS Battery Saver Pro and RAM booster, I charged it yesterday about 2pm and this morning I still have 50% remaining,

I'm thinking of getting the larger capacity battery (standard battery is 1200mah the high capacity I think is 2250mAh almost doubled), it's about £7 delivered mi get the wifey one to.

Might actually pull 3 day out of it haha

HK ORIENTAL JOURNEY GROUP CO., LIMITED. is printed on the battery. I'll be interested in the reports on this.

Seems to be for the SF2 only? Having never seen one, I don't know if the battery is different in the TMV version.

It´s compatible with TMV for sure... Im currently waiting for dispatching my order, within 3 weeks i should receive the battery and than i´ll make some test to compare battery life on both.

btw another good way to make your phone last longer is purchasing external battery. I just get this one from ebay, it´s quite cheap (12e), very handy and has 5600mAh capacity, so u can charge your phone more than 4 times... plus u'll get a bunch of different connectors for free

I did this but I need to find a really short USB cable. cables all over the place in your pocket.

I've noticed Nokia phones come with really short cables. Maybe you could see if anyone has a spare?

I find using apps that auto save battery useless for me.

Firstly because I can't disable the mobile network when not using the phone (needs to be always on in case gf needs to get in touch) and secondly, I use a few Im apps that need to always be running.

Thirdly I just disable the other features using the drop down menu ib fnc anyway.

I use 3 apps.

Startup auditor. (Because I only disable certain apps on startup)

Min free manager (because it essentially lets you configure what all tweak memory apps do manually). I have this set to store the most apps my phone can in memory and it doesn't affect battery life one bit.

SD Tweaker. Let's you define a sd cache size manually to increase performance.

Set cpu. For selecting 122-926 frequency range, nooq scheduler and smartass v2 overclock profile.

Before using all these I used system tuner pro, later android tuner, but often it broke or didn't set settings upon boot and since, the apps above have worked flawlessly. :)

Not to mention the obvious. Make sure haptic feedback is off and allow Wi-Fi to sleep is on in android settings.

hmmm maybe its just how it seems but Im seeing people stating that their battery drops to 50% in less than 24hrs?

is that without heavy use? (gaming, browsing etc)

only asking as my own crescent on CM7 Unofficial rom (I forget the actual build name or builder.....Id have to check) happily lasts near on a week on standby and maybe 2-3 days of irregular/light use before screaming for a plugging.... I don't use bluetooth often so that's off 99.9% of the time, the wifi's on more or less permanently as the "turn off in standby feature" of the rom keeps it from munching battery in standby, 3g's rarely on as is the same with Gps, only really have them on when needed.

I also don't use any "battery saver" apps either, the only possibly similar app is perhaps ES-taskmanager which I use randomly to shutdown unnecessary background processes with the "quick fix" widget

I had assumed that was pretty standard battery life but from what Im seeing here it actually appears to be quite good.

My Tips:

  1. Turn GPS off first
  2. Change WiFi settings so WiFi sleeps when screen is off (usually already set tho)
  3. Buy Titanium Backup and disable Google Talk if you're never going to use it, it's a bad culprit for waking up phones.
  4. Remove your wallpaper and just use black background, looks nice with JB or ICS roms and uses less battery for the display
  5. Don't use live wallpapers
  6. Use one of the JB/ICS roms and change the CPU settings so the max speed is less than 800MHz if power saving is your main concern.
  7. Buy Better Battery Stats, if your phone is waking up when it should be sleeping, this app will tell you which processes are waking it and you can act on that.

I think having a black background only saves power on amoled screens, not LCD. Keeping min brightness helps though.

According to my battery monitor widget my average 100-0 battery time is 10 hours. But on standby alone is 25 days.

Just shows why people get varied results. If we all wanted compare we could run battery monitor widget for a week and then see what our estimates (it estimates how long your battery will last using certain tasks)

Here's mine:

Correct, the image being displayed makes absolutely no difference on LCD screens. It makes a difference on AMOLED because the pixels are lit up individually.

That app looks interesting, I'll check it out.
