I don't know if this was already posted here, so apoligies if it was. Anyway, here is a ROM created by ng0tkul4. It's not my work, so don't get it confused :P

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

GThrill ROM for JIAYU G3

The latest version GThrill ROM is based on "CM10" rom from needrom.com. I have applied some tweaks, removed some apps, added some and added option for the selection of EN (ph, us) language. The original purpose was for personal use, but I thought to share it, in case anyone wants to try.

There are 2 variants of the ROM, as posted above. Cyanogenmod and LewaOS, CM being the latest version (3.0).

Thanks, will try it !

EDIT: It seems every time I reboot Android asks me which launcher to choose, even if I have selected one already!

EDIT2: Hello again, I have my contacts in international numbering (+30 for greece) and when I get called the device does not recognize the caller ! Any suggestions? :D

Otherwise the rom seems to be very good and stable. Also I have very good battery consumption! :D

Sorry, I can't help at all. I didn't make the ROM, I don't even have a Jiayu device, I just posted this because I saw it on XDA :P

Hi,

Is it relatively easy to use CM 10.1(Android 4.2.2) instead of 10(Android 4.1.2) for this ROM? Is anybody planning on doing so? I have no experience with this but if needed I can start reading the docs and stuff and try to do it myself. But maybe the creator of this ROM can do this a lot quicker than me :P

Or is there any ROM based on 4.2.2 for our phone?

Thanks everyone

For those with S501 chips, or what we call the Jiayu G3N variant, we now have a working Gthrill port: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2222451

Hello, today I got a new Jiayu 3GN and I flashed this rom.

Everything seems to work ok except for the GPS. The GPS also didn't work for me with the stock ICS that came with the phone.

With the "GThriil 3GN" rom when I went outside with "gps test" it took me like 4 minutes just to see 5 "in view" satellites but got no fix. can anyone confirm GPS is working with this rom or did I get a defective phone?

Also I have no "Google Talk", does anyone know how do I get it? (It can't be found in Play store).

I tested GPS and it's pretty much okay..took me like 3-4 minutes to get a fix, and about 10m accuracy..

You can search for a FULL gApps package for JB..they are Recovery-flashable so it gets installed in the proper directory and takes care of the permissions for you..
